| Description: | LAPD's standard issue light: The Pelican 7060 LED light employs new dual switch technology that allows the light to be activated by either a body-mounted patrol switch or a tail-mounted tactical switch. The dual switches, which include a momentary mode, allows the user to grip the light in several positions and still control activation. The light incorporates rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum brightness and are also light weight compared to standard batteries. |
I was lucky enough to buy this light for under $150. I must say that this light is well worth the money. It is extremely bright, and last for a really long time. Its extremly light weight and has 2 on/off buttons which make it a great light to use while having your duty gun in hand.
I was absolutely stunned by the power of this small flashlight! Granted, I am an old Streamlight, Maglight and Surfire chronie... plus, I was also rebellious of Los Angeles telling me which flashlight I could or could not utilize in the field. I mean for goodness sakes, it is my safety they are playing with!!!! Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I put this light in my hand. You know that part in the movie "Men in Black" where Tommy Lee Jones hands Will Smith this tiny gun? Yea, Will thinks it is a wimpy gun because of its size, yet gets knocked back about twenty feet due to its firepower? That is sort of the same feeling you get when you compare this flashlight to its larger brothers. It definitely puts out a mean beam of light. Luckily, we received these flashlights for free, along with chargers and all of the patrol cars have built in chargers and even our detective vehicles have chargers. What's more is that they are all serialized so that even if you lose one, you more than likely will not lose it for very long, unlike the other flashlights that were taken, engraved, re-engraved and painted.... The only thing that I can say about this flashlight, is to try it and see what you think.
Pelican make the best flashlight on the markey especially for the money. You can not find a better light.
This is by far the most revolutionary flashlight on the market for the price. I've had old/new Streamlight and Surefire flashlights in the past. I think Surefire is close but they don't have a "click on" feature, which moves them behind Pelican. This light is so bright and clear it's amazing. Streamlight made a valiant attempt but there is no way it will hold up to the Pelican at the price the Pelican is at. We are now issuing them to each new officer we hire, and replacing lost or broken lights with the new Pelicans.
Best light ever made...Period! Streamlight, Surefire not even Blackhawk or Inova come close to being able to put out this amount of light! It is completely blinding and able to light up entire large rooms! Officer safety begins with training and good equipment and odds are that your light will save your life more times than your weapon so why trust your life to anything less than the best! It's not cheap but how much is your life worth!?
good stuff
This is the brightest light that I have found. I have used everything from Maglite to Stinger and this is by far the best that is around.
I did a side-by-side comparison of the Pelican 7060 and my Stinger. The 7060 was so much brighter and lighter, I ordered one immediately. The single LED element sends out a briliant white light that illuminates the darkest allley or room. I received it today and will be carrying it tonight. My personal safety is well worth the price!
I bought this light about 6 months ago and have really been impressed. The brightness is brighter than all of my other officers flashlights - they cannot believe it comes in such a small package. It carries well on the duty belt. The hexagonal shape stops it from rolling around when you put it down. Excellent value.
Very bright blows away the streamlight version...150 isnt a bad price for a good light though
While on a ridealong with LAPD's Air Support Division, this light can be seen from our orbit of 700 feet above. Definitely a must have, great charge life, bulb intensity, and lightweight.....
Pelican's best to date.
Excellent light, slightly large, but it's one of the first CREE powered LED lights to hit the market, and is very rugged. The fact it's rechargeable is excellent. And it lasts me my entire 12 hour night shift. I'm sure it would easily last me two or three night shifts but I still throw it on the charger, and it's normally charged before I hit the bed in the morning.
Only gripe I have is the lens scratches really easily. I've taken excellent care of my light (as with my other lights, being a light fanatic) and it still scratched. I haven't contacted customer service yet, so we'll see.
I do like the fact it comes with a holster. My suggestion is to look around, you can find it for lower than $140...
The light is very lighweight and manageable. It puts out a great deal of light and is durable except for the end cap. The only drawback is that there is no warning when the battery is about to die.
Best warranty in the business. You break it, they replace it, no questions asked. This is the company that makes the rigid combat cases for military sensors and other fragile items that must be transported to battle without damage. You can run over this flashlight with a truck and it still works. Two switches; one near head, one in tail cap with momentary on. Easy to "strobe" to distract a potential problem subject. Call me at (941) 780-8713 if you need more info.
I was so impressed by this Flashlight that I am now stocking it in the UK at GAFFYR'S GADGETS.
They are better than my Black Hawk Gladius, brighter & a lot cheaper.
Batteries last for ages & the brightness is incredible, also very reliable
The lifetime warranty really sells it !
Great Flashlight. Bright and easy to carry.
for it's size and price, you simply cannot get a better light. i have dropped this flashlight off a 4 story building, ran it over with a pickup, beat in the window of a car, and used it daily for almost a year. it still looks and works like the day i bought it. the battery shows no signs of losing charge. and the fact that this thing COMES WITH A DUTY CASE, you simply cannot top it.
