I know most people shrug off Taurus handguns for duty use, but I have used the P92 for about 4 years now, over 500 rounds put through it. I love the gun. I its smooth and well built. I have a rail mounted light attached. I just as good as a Beretta and has a lifetime warranty.
I love my Taurus! I've been using it now for a few months and have put a lot of rounds through it on the range. No problems to this point. It was accurate right out of the box and I have no problems with grouping longer shots. I also love the high capacity mags that are available for it. 17+1 is very nice and the built in rail is outstanding for those of us who spend our time patroling when it is dark.
I HAD ONE OF THESE AND IT WAS SEXY!
A nice gun don't get me wrong but not suitable for me on patrol as a primary weapon maybe as a back up.
I owned one of these weapons for several years using it as my back-up and off-duty weapon, and I was always impressed with how it performed. This pistol would always fire even when dirty, wet, or covered with mud. I couldn't jam it or cause a stovepipe even when I was trying. This really is a remakable sidearm. The great thing about a Taurus is that is comes with a lifetime guarantee. The manufacturer will repair or replace any defect free for the life of the weapon.
I NEED THA'S FOR FROTECTICAL AND KEEP SAFE
My first pistol......had accuracy problems when rapid fired.
This is for back up only.
I have the PT-99 I have been using it for 7 years for training and competion. I have probly put 11,000 rounds through it. The only problems that have come up with the weapon is the ajustible rear sight has 2 pins that shear/break. The front pin is the that allows the up and down swivel this 1 breaks about every 2k round, the second pin holds the spring under the sight and a plunger like thing that sets the sight in place broke at about the 8k mark, then the last pin that broke is on the inside of the weapon it broke at the 10k mark this pin somehow allows the slide to move(it is on the peice that the spring and rod are set against for the slide to move) I never had to pay to replace anything all the gunsmiths i have gone to just replaced the pins for free
I recently purchased a new PT 92 (blued). I have young kids in my house. My duty weapon is a Glock 23 as you know it is not a young child safe weapon so I keep it at work in my locker. But my Taurus has a Safety and a built in lock. I feel better having this weapon at home for personal defense then the Glock. Both weapons are excellent but when you have young kids in the house safety comes first. www.taurususa.com
I love the Tauras. Handles very well.
Owner of two models and neither one has failed. The oldest one is the one my father had and now in my collection. Late eighties pt92, only failures to feed could be trace to ammunition or bad mags. The newest model is a 2002 model. Both feed 115gr, 124gr, 147gr in standard and +p loads.
This was the first handgun that I bought as a 21 year old stationed in Arizona. I loved this gun but I ended up having to sell it to pay bills. Last year I finally bought a new one. This Taurus is buttery smooth. It's almost as nice as my Sig.
