| Description: | The AR-15A3 is an exceptional patrol rifle with tactical accuracy chosen by federal, state and local agencies. The 16.1" (40.9 cm) heavy barrel with 1 in 9" (229 mm) rifling twist allows flexibility in ammunition selection. The telescopic buttstock adjusts to four positions to enhance mobility and fit to a wider range of operators. In position the removable carrying handle provides an M16A4 target style sight adjustable for windage and elevation to 600 meters. Easily removable, the flat top upper receiver allows for easy mounting of optical, night vision and other tactical sighting systems. The tactical carbine is the answer to all the requirements of modern law enforcement. |
Great weapon, no L/E officer should be w/o one. Carried the M16 A2 in the Marines this is just as rugged and accurate.
These are one sweet shooting machines and no one should leave home without it.
I've built SEVERAL of these and have loved every one of them. Whenever I sell one, I find myself just wanting to build another with more accessories and options than the one before it. There is nothing more easy to operate, and take down and clean, and nothing more fun to shoot than one of these!
Very impresive patrol rifle. Had mine for about 3 years now. Made several modifications on it and it performs better than ever. Just recently added the pistol grip flashlight mount. What more could a patrolman ask for.
Our dept just went to this weapon last year and so far I can say its awsome. Packs a good punch , great with just about any shooter> Great tactical weapon.
Excellent! I love this weapon - very accurate.
Yes love it! One of these is on my Christmas list for my wife. LOL
Made by Colt Enough said.
I bought mine for the collectiblity rather then shooting. I usually build DPMS or something else for shooting and use. Colts only go up in value over the years. I picked mine up for around 1150.
I've owned my Colt AR15 for several years now. I love to shoot it. If you take care of it, it'll take care of you. It will do most anything you can ask of this type of rifle.
I bought mine following the LA Bank Robbery. My Sheriff at the time approved us to carry them so we could level the field of play. I dont have a scope on mine, and the iron sites are "Always On"....
It good for all sorts of work occations, whether it be a Felony Take Down, or a high risk entry on a search warrant....its great, and a must have for every officer for those "just in case" moments...
Go get ya one!!
This fine firearm is everything embodied in the previous posts and more. (Aside from my trusty old Springfield M-1-A) the AR-15 A3 is without a doubt a hard-hitting, accurate and ultra-dependable firearm. You can bet your life on it!
If I could only get to one rifle during a hostile situation, this is the only one I would think of. Super accurate at long distance with medium weight. Great rifle.
been in a lot of tight spots in 17 years of law enforcement...always had a colt ar-15 close by..dependable says it all
GREAT RIFLE!!! I carried the M16 for a total of 21 years combined in the Regular Army and then in the Army Reserves. It has never let me down. Every officer should have one of these in some configuration or another. You never know when it will come in handy.
This rifle is great, I too think LEO's everywhere should have one. A friend of mine has this rifle and he tought me how to take it down and put it together with my eyes closed...one day I'll have my own for sure.... it's accuracy is just as good as the M-16
Another piece of my patrol equipment. I do have a 4x32 TSN01, redi-mag, floated barrell, and it's compted. You need to eat your wheaties to carry this one but it is great. Oh yeah, the trigger has had a little work too.
Let's just say I'm in love with my AR~
have had 2 ar's. great rifle and very accurate.
great weapon, used by many LEO agencies.
Excellent weapon!
Great weapon!
Mine is actually a Match Target Competition HBAR II (MT6731) with full shoulder stock, which I've now added to the gear list. I used it at a sniper school (yes with a 16" barrel) with no trouble making 1/4 to 1/2 MOA, I can't take all the credit the rifle played it's part and played it well. When changed to a collapsible stock it makes a great patrol/entry rifle as well.
Beautiful weapon
How Sweet it issssssssss!!!!!
Used this in the Air Force for 6 years, and still do in the Air Force Reserve--other than the occasional jam (which is EASY to remedy), never a problem with these. Great weapon, amazing accuracy for iron sights--and very little kick.
We use this in our towers and it is very acurate . I personaly love this rifle!
