I love the comfort and weight of these boots. Workmanship on the other hand is questionable. I am about 4 months into them and already have liner holes in the heal area and seams at top of boot coming apart. Converse needs to definitely work on the quality of boot to meet the needs of 12+ hour shifts, 4 or 5 days a week, in all weather conditons.
These boots are very comfortable from day 1. The big propblem with them is that they begin to fall apart from the inside out. From 6 to 8 months of use the inner liner fell apart exposeing a plasti bracing which tends to bend causing scrapes to the heel and ankle. The traed also begins to tear and fall apart. Another problem that i have found is that if you are running and hit an area that is wet these boots do not offer very good skid resistance.
Orginally gave this boot a favorable review. Comfort out of the box was great for me. The only negative I orgianlly posted was the tendency for them to "squeek" when walking on hardwood or vinyl flooring. UPDATE: these boots are falling apart at the stitching. Also the interior of the boot has began to disintegrate. Just ordered new pair of boots...not this brand though. Too bad, I really liked them initially
The 26 months I worked in Iraq with DoS as a police trainer I wore this same boot. The boots that were issued is very uncomfortable. The first time I tried on the converse it felt like they were already broken in to wear. In the classroom, at the Iraqi Police Stations, on convoys and having to beat-feet it out of harms way, this is the best boot ever.
I BOUGHT A PAIR OF CON'S AT MY LOCAL COP STUFF SHOP FOR $100. FOR THE FIRST 2 OR 3 MONTHS I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. ON ABOUT THE 4th MONTH THE LINERS WENT TO CRAP IN THE HEELS AND I HAD CUT THEM OUT. THEY WOULD HANG UP ON MY HEELS AND I HAD TO FIGHT JUST TO GET THEM OFF. DURING THE 5th MONTH THE SOLES STARTED TO SEPARATE FROM THE BOOT ON THE OUTER EDGES. SERIOUS CRAFTSMANSHIP ISSUES!!!
Had a very hard time breaking these in, they still to this day are not fully comfortable
Bought them, wore them for 4 hrs and couldn't wait to get them off. Going to return them. Every part was very comfortable except for the top of my foot. Very uncomfortable for me.
I'll have to try them out
These boots are very comfy for me. Having a very wide foot (8 1/2 EEE to a 9 EE) makes it difficult to find botos that actually fit my feet. Converse is one of the few I have found out there that actually fit and don't have to stretch them out. If the soles are very clean, they tend to squeak on smooth hard surfaces. Working in a jail environment with wet floors from time to time I have found they have very good slip resistance. The stitching quality could use some work though.
Very comfortable boot. Almost as comfortable as running shoes. I have had 2 pairs and the sole comes apart form the boot after a short time.
Even though I kow others have had bad luck with the seams, I haven't had a problem with mine yet in over a year. Also, I used to get horrible sore feet after I'd go for my daily run, and then start my shift when I was wearing normal Danner's. Ever since wearing these, I don't have any problems. For the price, around 80 bucks, if you break 'em, just buy a new pair. Danner's are way too stiff and poor of a sole to justify keeping anymore....I'll just buy athletic style boots from now on.
good boot
First few months the inside liner fell apart. But ive had the same pair of boots for 2 years now and besides the inside liner the boot has done it's job. It takes a spit shine good as well. I'm buying a new pair and hope for the best.
Ok, so the workmanship doesn't satisfy anyone. But these are by far the most comfortable boots out there. I will glady replace them every 6 or 7 months. I would place comfort over durability.
Very durable but to bulky for me.
Good boot, but did not last very long
The boot does not hold up and is not worth the money.
love these boots! i have the 6" style. The side zipper is a plus!
Best boot I've ever had. It is comfortable and light. It held up for about 1 1/2 yrs and I still use the old pair for range time. Great ankle support for foot pursuits on uneven ground.
