Very comfortable pair of boots and worth their weight in gold. This is my first pair and I have liked them since I pulled them out of the box. The only downside to owning these boots comes from the waterproof side. They are indeed waterproof but that also means what doesn't come in, doesn't go out. Make sure you get some foot powder and take them off away from the wife and kids otherwise you'll run them off!! Other than stinky feet, i have no other issues with them!
Outstanding boot, by far the best I have ever used. They are lightweight and do well on the 16-hour days. Excellent traction on both wet and dry surfaces. They still look new after 6 months of working, running and fighting. Well worth the money. I would like to see a zipper version which is why only 4 stars.
Gotta protect your feet
Comfort and stability, are the two words I use to sum up my experience with the 5.11 HRT boots. I have been wearing Corcoran II Field Boots exclusively for several years. While they are arguably the most durable and comfortable combat boot in the history of combat boots (personal preference), they are certainly not dry by any stretch of the imagination. Having worn a lot of 5.11 gear and being very happy with it, I decided to take the plunge and purchased the HRT boots. I found a wide variety of prices from a high of almost $160 to a low of $89. But, I found a local store clearing them out for $40!
My first day wearing the boots, I really put them to the test. We got almost 3" of rain that day so I spent some time walking in ankle-deep water without a leak. We also had a relatively busy day, so I spent more time than usual on my feet. I had been having a lot of pain in my left foot and since I began wearing these, at least while I'm wearing these boots, the pain disappears. I have also been impressed by the stout laces on the boots and the removable/replaceable insoles that I remove nightly to prevent odor.
I do have two concerns about with the boot. One, I haven't experienced this problem, but some of my co-workers have, the rubberized toe protector has torn on the inside of the boot where the foot flexes at the ball. However, they contacted 5.11 who advised them to return them to the point of purchase for an exchange, even though they are nearly a year old. Now that's standing by your product!! My other problem, more of a gripe, is that the heel seems to be kind of loud on pavement or hard floor surfaces. Granted, every sound you make seems amplified 100 times when you’re doing some sneaking around covert-type stuff.
These boots are by far one of the best pair of boots I have ever worn. They are comfortable, breathable, and great in any weather. The only downside to these boots is you cannot shine the whole boot. That aspect may be an issue for some departments. I went through one pair of these already and am waiting for a second pair to arrive.
Very good boot. It's waterproof and great in the snow.
ONE OF THE BEST PAIR OF BOOTS IVE HAD =]
This is the second pair of 5.11 boots Iv'e had. My currect pair is the HRT. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever had. Iv'e had Galls, Bates, Converse, etc and 5.11 HRT beats them all. When these are worn out, I will certainly get another pair.
Outstanding boot, by far the best I have ever used.
I've warn this boot for almost a year and havent warn it out yet and that in it's self is a great acomplishment. I usualy go through a pair of boots in about 6 months but this pair is still going strong. this is the second pair that i have owned and will not go with any other boot.
Right out of the box these boots were as comfortable as my old ones. No break in period at all. After 10 months I just replaced them. I'm hard on boots and usually destroy a set every six months or so...
Great boots, ciomfortable, waterproof, and hold up well. What more could you ask for.
Great during the academy. I will probably buy a pair of danners when i graduate
Best boots I have ever had. They feel like tennis shoes but can with stand anything.
I love them!!!!
