LIVE 5.5% OC Shotgun Stream™Aerosol combines the firing distance and limited secondary exposure benefits of the pin-stream firing pattern with the vaporization and coverage benefits of the cone and mist sprays. Maximum Firing Distance: helps to ensure that officers are a safe enough distance away from the suspect to enable the “active agent” the time to vaporize and take affect. Maximum Coverage: increases the likelihood that the “active agent” will come into contact with the face area of the suspect(s). Maximum Officer Reaction Time: If necessary, the 15 feet or more Shotgun Stream™ firing pattern distance provides officers with more reaction time to move to their agencies approved next level of force. Minimum Secondary Exposure: LIVE Shotgun Stream™Aerosol is less wind sensitive than fogs, foams, and mists, minimizing the likelihood of officer and innocent bystander secondary exposure to “active agent.” Secondary exposure to “active agent” can jeopardize officer safety while confronting a dangerous suspect. Specially formulated "active agent" to break down with prescribed antidote to speed up Post Exposure Recovery time. Contains no substances listed with the EPA as a hazardous material--contents are non-flammable. Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) in aerosol form, is derived from the oils and resins of pepper plants. Unlike CS which is an irritant, OC is an inflammatory. When the OC comes into contact with mucous membranes located in the nose and throat of the suspect the areas become inflamed. The inflammation leads to irritation of the eyes, sinuses, nasal passages, and constriction of the air passageways. In cases where higher percentages of OC are deployed, the suspect(s) level of breathing can be decreased to a minimal life support level. OC reaction time can range from instantaneous to several minutes. It has also been known to further enrage a certain segment of the population, especially those who are allergic to pepper. The percentages of the “active agent” may range between .5% all the way up to 15% OC. All LIVE Shotgun Stream™Aerosol OC percentages do not exceed 5.5% OC.
