Posted 9 months ago I'm not a hunter but don't you get cold hunting bear? Why not put on warm clothes? Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader!

Posted 9 months ago No, it gets the adrenaline goin just thinking about it. On an high-country deer/elk hunt, stumbled on a nice, big black bear eatin on an elk kill. Luckily I was behind him, and the .243 scared him off, rather than him try and eat me!!! He was the biggest black bear my uncle and I have ever seen!

Posted 9 months ago I actually ordered Buffalo jerky from the internet last week! I was out of this world. Even my daughter and her boyfriend tore into it. The do Elk too, what do you think? Any good as jerky? (Serious question). Because this place sells that too and I'm up to trying just about any weird stuff. Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader!

Posted 9 months ago A group of us went to Maine on a bear hunt. A couple of us went out coyote hunting after shooting our bears and while calling for coyote's we called in a black bear that walked up behind us. Its an erie feeling to hear them clacking their teeth while standing behind you.

Posted 9 months ago Yep I think I felt its breath on the back of my neck once or twice. Needless to say we removed ourselves from the area very slowly

It's tasty. :-) Only my son and I eat the venison, elk, etc., that I kill so I have a lot of it made into jerky and deer sticks (like slimjims) and mail it to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's tasty but I have a lot of it so I mail it to them to make their stay a little easier. Try it, it's good. Be Safe! --B |

Posted 8 months ago crash01 said: yeah that's pretty close! Here in Minnesota we can only hunt bear over bait (consisting of any kind of food you want thrown in a hole covered with logs). Last year I was stuck in a stand with 2 big boars fighting over which one got to stay on the bait. I was up in my tree with a bow, no side arm, for over 2 hours after sunset! My camera man happened to have a 44 on his hip so that made it a little more comforting but in the dark woods, shooting at a black bear, you would be lucky to hit anything that wouldn't just piss him off more. That was a close call because the 2 bears followed us out of the woods, one on either side of our trail! "Blessed Are the Peacemakers" Matthew 5:9

Posted 8 months ago Come over to my house in the fall. I average two to three a night trying to get into my garage to eat the dog food. You can even shoot them if you want. I will pay you.
