Posted 8 months ago Hello All. New to the group here and fellow member to group said you guys could help out. Currently moving back to Ohio for my children and am looking for any direction on where are the openings to find employment. Currently in Clearwater FL...( I know why the heck do I want to come back to OH) working for a very high speed security agency that has a specialty in removing the scum bag element from communities and promoting a strong rich enviroment where people can walk and live without fear. I am looking to get into LE and help my communities in the same way but I do not know where to start. I am from Youngstown originally and would like to stay in the NE if possible but not necessary. I am a very hard worker and have had 2 promotions in my current agency within 6 months. Will have Anti Terrorism Officer accredidation by end of month and last requal was 240. Before I get too long winded here i will stop. Please respond with any ideas or advice that you may have. Thanks ohcop for the invite. |

| Posted 8 months ago Try a campus or university police department, that way your kids can attend college for free because you are an employee. |

| Posted 8 months ago Are you currently Ohio Certified....try to find a department that will put you through the academy also. "Show class, have pride, and display character. | Posted 8 months ago Central Ohio has some of the strongest pay and benefits, however is very competitive. You definately need to figure out if you are going to try and get hired on first by a dept. that will send you to an academy to get your cert. or if you already are and are actively looking. Shotgun your apps out, don't put them all in one basket and keep asking around. Lots of great agencies out there. Suburban and University Police may be more difficult to get into since they are usually referral based and always have large numbers of test takers for small amt of openings. |

| Posted 7 months ago Highway patrol is a good choice but I've been trying to get in for 3 years now, so it takes some time. Hilliard, Dublin, and Worthington are looking for officers. OSU campus is looking also. |
