As a car guy, I can't help notice the grotesque trend in "urban decoration lately of old grandpa cars being skyjacked on 4x4 truck frames. while the automotive trend itself, is pretty much- retarted, not to mention dangerous.. my question is serious to our resident task force, and narcotics guys. IS there a purpose or "steet code" for these cars marked with corporate logos, characters or themes? I.E M&M's, Spongebob, McDonalds?

I see this a lot here. Jacked up old caprices, crown vic, etc... on lit kits, big rims, with scooby doo, pilsbury, hulk, etc... Haven't found a meaning for it.

You have got to post a pic of this. I haven't herd of this at all. Maybe I live in a cave but I just haven't heard of this.

We have the same thing here. It seems to be declining a bit more from what it used to be. Our guys typically have a brand of cereal or candy logo on their car. I have yet to find any meaning for this. The only thing I can figure they do it for compensation for advertising. Go to www.TheFreeCar.com . It will explain it all. Otherwise I wouldn't know why.

yep Eric, thats exactly what I was referring to. I heard rumor, that different logos and brands were street code for different narcotics possibly being distributed in the area.

Where im from in Oklahoma, If you wear clothing or display on your vehicle, the pilsbury dough boy it means they sell cocain or crack cocain. if someone wears or displays bugs bunny, it means they sell marijuana and if they wear a shirt or display a snowman it meams they just sell cocain only no crack. Mcdonalds means marijuana also and M&Ms mean they sell pills

Yea there is nothing more amusing than to see a crown vic with a bumper kit on it! Back in the mid 1980's it was the little CAD sevillies they "pimped out". Then it went to BMW 328I's for a while (my favorite color was metal flake-egg plant purple), but when credit was easy and they could afford gas, all of these ghetto dwellers went to the big NEW SUV's. I mean every 20 or 30 something ,wanna be "rapper" in town had a SUV with spinning rims. Now they are moving back to the older cars becuase credit is hard to get, gas is going up, and lets face it-their music blows.

Damn I thought it was only south GA that had that BS going on!! yeah they have nothing but crown vics jacked up real high, with candy and cereal stuff painted all over em. One even looked like an old bass boat sparkle deal like my ole grandpa used to have back in 93. I dont understand it all. Its stupid as all hell. They take a perfectly good Crown Vic and discrace it like that.... tragic I tell you.

http://www.advercarzing.com/ LMAO for 30 bucks a year for the membership they give you a new car to drive or pay you to drive yours with a decal on the side.. if they were going to give me a car to drive for free (minus insurance and gas) I would take that over the puttin crap on my car any day. Knowing my luck I'd get something dumb

My Guys on Mids stopped a Cheetos one last night and forgot to take pictures, they said it was hysterical. Locked up the driver for CCW

We were talking about this too this AM during Roll Call. Some of them pay more for more mileage that you put on. So what better cars to put them on, The Ghetto Sleds that are creeping around all night looking to sling dope or commit any other crime

I looked at the pics, her mother must be so proud. It is a big fad down here but we ( my wife is Narc detective) have never heard of it having a meaning behind the logo.

Most of you people on this blog are racist bastards, to be blunt if this is such a ghetto trend the why are so many people outside the ghetto trying to be just like the so called ghetto dwellers. And the logo's have nothing to do with drugs, the logo's are because #1 either the person has a sponsor or #2 its in reference to the colors of the car. Would i ride around  with a logo on my car ......no , but im not going to make it as if its a trend limited to the ghetto because there are kids outside the ghetto that do the same things. So if you wanna be politically correct lets associate the trend with something that young people do. This trend probably cost more than some of you make in a year so maybe it's jealousy
