Michigan received its third oral commitment for the 2009 class this weekend from Detroit Cass Tech running back Teric Jones.

Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher said Saturday that Jones made a non-binding committment to Michigan.

Jones made the decision after Michigan's practice Saturday.

Jones, a 5-10, 190-pounder, was not the featured tailback in Cass Tech’s system but USC and other schools were talking to Jones. Michigan was his first firm offer.

He becomes the third recruit in new U-M coach Rich Rodriguez’s first full recruiting class, joining high school teammate William Campbell, a defensive tackle, and Massillon (Ohio) Washington safety Justin Turner, who reportedly committed on Friday.

Jones attended the junior combine at the U.S. Army All-American Game in January.
