I use stanard polish and brush method, but after i have a few good coats of polish on them i buff them with panty hose. I know it may sound wierd but the panty hose makes them shine up really nice.

A black magic marker.....just kidding....Kiwi polish and rags works fine.

Kiwi Parade Gloss polish....apply good coat to boots.....use lighter to burn wax into pores of leather.....cotton rag (old t-shirt) tip dipped in water.....rub over burned wax in small circles until sheen.......finish off with clean rag (panty hose does work at this stage) to buffed shine!

Regular black Kiwi boot polish, old OD-green t-shirt, spit, an hour of dedicated index finger swirling, and buff with an old nylon stocking.

We wear the corophrams or chorino's whatever they are called so I use an old toothbrush to clean out between the sole and the shoe. I use pledge or armorall on the shoe and then edge dressing.

Kiwi gloss with a heat gun. That was when the Army till wore black boots. Thank God for desert boots now, all they require is a wire brush here and there!

Ok, this is my specialty. There is a web site that sells the very best waxing polish. Its made for the 82nd airborne just outside the gates of Fort Bragg NC. The web site is: "DABOOTSHOP.COM". This polish has 3 times the lanolin (the shining compound) in it than Kiwi Parade Gloss. My son turned me on to this stuff, its great. Make sure the leather is clean. Use a 100% cotton cloth (like a baby diaper). Dont be shy, apply a liberal amount of the polish to the entire shoe\boot. Dont fag out and only polish the toes, thats a cheater shine. Use a lighter like the one you'd use to light a barbeque. Dont hold the flame in one spot too long, you will scorch the leather and now its useless, remember your shining the polish not really the leather. Fill the top tin of the polish can with ice cold water. Dip your shining rag, right where you used to put on the polish, and rub the water into the newly heated polish. Its all about the feel. Rub hard until you feel, with your finger tips, the polish become soft and smooth. keep applying the water ,and alternate with polish (no more heat) until the polish builds up and the swirls are dissapearing. You'll know how this feels right after a few times. Between shines, Wipe your footwear lightly with a cold damp rag to remove dirt. Then, if you have a nice buildup of polish, use a womans nylon to buff the polish very quickly. the nylon creates heat which lightly heats up the polish and the shine comes right back. If you keep your footwear in good shape and polish often, at least once per week, the quick fix (the nylon techniqe), will make your footwear highly shined. This is all the tricks I learned in the Army and to this day, I will never be seen in uniform unless my shoes\boots are dazzling. Ive yet to meet my match in this area.
I know it sounds weird, but the military conditioned me to always be sharp in your uniform .it creates a "presence" when your on scene and if the bad guy is sizing you up, he'll know your an officer not to mess with because it shows your attention to detail and your commitment to the profession.
Ive had bad guys tell me this in person. They have said that they werent going to mess with me because I appeared to have my shit together. They said that if it were another officer that seemed not as professional, they would have taken their chances. "Nough said!"

Set your "Kiwi" on fire, not to long, and the polishing will go much smoother. And faster.

Patent leather with windex cleanup is great if you have to go to a speial event. I just use Kiwi & saliva to rub a high gloss shine on the toes of my duty boots. The rest of the boot is just brushed and then polished with an old diaper.

I guess I'm lazy.  I just use the Kiwi, brush, and Panti hose method. Works well.

Take a zippo to kiwi parade gloss, then use a cotton bandanna to apply, then use another bandanna to wipe down, then repeat. Finnish up with nylon sock/panty hose.

What is a heat gun? Could you just use a hair dryer to heat up the wax so that it get's into all the creases? 'Cause I am a little afraid of putting a lighter to my boots, I just don't trust myself that much :D
