Campus Population

Posted 3 months ago I worked at the Charlotte Campus of Edison Community College that had a population of about 1500 degree seeking students. The "community" has since been dropped and they are now trying for "state college" status... http://edison.edu/charlotte/ Amor est vitae essentia - Love is the essence of life. (Robert B. Mackay) |

Posted 3 months ago VCU has two, three, or four campuses, depending on who you are talking to. We deal, primarily, with two - the main university campus, and the medical campus (VCU Medical Center, The Medical College of Virginia, and the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park). The academic campus has no walls, includes residential areas, and has properties all throughout the city, many of which are public buildings, businesses and parks. This campus poplulation is dense with students, faculty and staff, but includes a cross section of the city, as many city streets run through the campus. The medical campus is populated likewise and includes a large hospital (level 1 trauma center and massive outpatient operations. The overall population we are regarded as serving is over 50,000.

Posted 2 months ago MSU has one large campus with about 46,000 students and about 8,000 employees. Daytime during the school year we have 80-100,000 passing through with the largest dorm system in the country.

Posted 2 months ago The University of Missouri-Kansas City has 14 thousand students at any given time. There are a couple thousand staff and faculty members and there are around 25 people working for our department. We have an urban campus and a health sciences complex about 3 miles north. The Health sciences campus includes medical, pharmacy, nursing, and dental schools. Its bordered by Childrens Mercy Hospital and Truman Hospital (teaching hospital, we call it Ghetto General). Our main campus includes University and Trustee owned houses, as well as homes that are privately owned, and we have several city streets that cross campus. We also have the ability to answer calls for the city, and issue municipal as well as university tickets. Btw, we're hiring....

Posted about 1 month ago Working at a hospital campus, you have to deal with not only the patient's, but you have to deal with their peeps as well. Then not to mention the high population of indegents who try and take advantage of the system. We get the PI's, BMV's, UUMV's, THEFT's....etc. etc. But you gotta love the APOWW's, those are the best

Posted about 17 hours ago MSU (Montana, not to be confused with the other MSU in this thread, which is, I believe, in Michigan), has about 12,000 undergrad students. Staff and grad students run up our campus population to (if you don't count family housing) around 20,000. That doesn't sound like much if you're from a highly populated area, but this college, if it were to stand alone, is the 12th largest city in Montana. Our department, when fully staffed, has 17 sworn officers (including the Chrief, assistant Chief, and one detective). I love working with these folks; you couldn't ask for a better group.
