1 or 2 man units???
Posted 2 months ago I want some feed back on everyones experience with 1 and 2 man units. My dept. personally we are a 1 man unit. However, sometimes we have a warrant car, a direct patrol car, and or a traffic car( besides the real traffic cars who do Comm. Vehicle inspections). As a 1 and or 2 man unit what are some of the pros/ cons you all see or think about?

Posted 2 months ago 1 man units don't have to worry about watching a other persons back. I work alone, another person would be to much of a hassle in case it has to get dangerous and there would be another body you would have to watch out for! 2 men working together has to watch cross fire and know what the other is doing. I have been taught in my KSP training on how to handle things alone long enough to get back up there!

| Posted 2 months ago I personally think, for reasons of stupid accusations and litigations, that all units should have one male and one female officer at all times if on patrol. Special units can be set up however funding or necessity dictates but I feel regular patrol should always have 2, one male, one female. JMO Stay Safe. 'Tis better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Posted 2 months ago one man unit since i started and wouldnt have it any other way. its great to have back up but not all officers are the same and have different things to do when not on a call. LIFE'S JOURNEY IS NOT TO ARRIVE AT THE GRAVE SAFELY IN A WELL PRESERVED BODY BUT RATHER TO SLIDE IN SIDEWAYS, TOTALLY WORN OUT, SHOUTING "HOLY SHIT....WHAT A RIDE"

Posted 2 months ago I always liked being solo in the car, which made it B-U-T-FUL when getting a motor. For general patrol, it really is the way, good cops always wait for back up anyway. During special details like POP Projects, Task Force Assignements or events, nothing beats having a partner in the same car for many reasons, mainly safety and liability.
