Should we just do away with Security Guards? (SG'S GOT PUNKED)

Posted 2 months ago What do you guys think about just doing away with security guards all together? This would force businesses to hire sworn LEO's which would help out the LEO's with additional detail income, and also would give the business better security. We all know that they only hire security guards just to save the money, they would rather pay a $7.00/hr security guard then a $15.00+/hr LEO. If they just do away with private security companies it would work out a whole lot better for everyone, most security guards were just using the SG job to pay the bills until they get a real job anyway. What are your thoughts on this? PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY! |

| Posted 2 months ago In New Jersey you can't because of an old law regarding the hiring of off duty cops. They have to be working for the city so they are covered by the insurance. Thus, it would cost 4-5 times that of what a security guard makes.

| Posted 2 months ago Sure if they want to do away with Rent-A- Cop companies I wouldn’t care. Most of the people that I have run into are idiots anyways, but in our defense there are some good people in the security field, it’s just that they are few and far between. |

| Posted 2 months ago but don't you guys think that for the most part SG's are a waste of money anyway just because if something real actually happened they'd have to call us anyway. | Posted 2 months ago I want to be the security company because they rape their employee's getting $30.00 per hour and paying them only $7.00. Nice racket. Otherwise, I agree with KSP, lets do away with em' and take over the business! |

| Posted 2 months ago I think its a great idea. In Louisiana, companies pay security guard a small amount of money so they dont have to pay an off duty officer. Off Duty officers make 40 + bucks an hour. Off duty officers suppliment there incomes by working off duty gigs....So, I think that if we get rid of security guards....More off duty officers can work more off duty details and thus put more food on there table....I think Security guards are infact....robbing police officers of providing cool stuff for there families...SOOO...get rid of em' .......If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough !!! |

| Posted 2 months ago Reall SG's just cause crime if you think about it. Criminals see security guards and they know the business is an easy target. They stay away from the businesses with LEO's working details. PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY! |

| Posted 2 months ago Problem is, besides the cost, as stated, the LEO would be, for the most part, idle most of the time as compared to the cop in the street. The crooks now will know who they are dealing with; thus, curtailing their ilegal activities. It could be done in a rortational system to the detriment of some, or on a voluntary basis. Just so it wouldn't interfere with promotions.. |

Sometimes a person does what they can for whatever limiting factor they may face. Whether it's part time or full time. I was raised that I would give 100% for whatever job I had.
