Glock 23c or 38?

Posted 2 months ago Im debating between the glock 23c and a glock 38 (.45 GAP). I currently cary a glock 17 but its too big to conceal and i want something with a bit more stopping power. I dont like the ultra compact glocks, they feel a little wierd in my hand even with the magazine extension. I have shot the glock 23 and hear its not as good recoil wise as the 23c so i figured if i go with that one if i get a .40. What do you guys think of the glock 38? Decent on recoil compared to the 23 or 23c? I know its bigger but i have shot some .45's that didnt feel as bad as some .40's. |

| Posted 2 months ago I'd go with the G23 or 23C over the G38. Ammo availablity & price being the main concerns as well as magazine capacity. |

| Posted 2 months ago I forgot to mention my uncle has a SS Springfield ultra compact .45 which i think is the v10 but has 10 round mags and a compensator. He says he cant shoot worth crap with it. Is it really that inaccurate or is it him? lol He said he might sell it to me for $350 0r $400. Anyone with experience with this gun? So it looks like its either gonna be this gun or a glock 23c. |

| Posted 2 months ago Get the 23C, can't go wrong with a .40 Everything you do can get you killed, including doing nothing at all. |

| Posted 2 months ago Go with the Glock 23 or 23C. The recoil is not bad at all in my opinion. I would stay away from the .45GAP, especially with rising ammo prices and .45GAP ammo is harder to find and higher priced. |

| Posted 2 months ago I have been carrying a g 23 off duty for years. I'd stick with the .40 as opposed to the gap.. Any you don't really need a compensated model. It doesn't make any difference in recoil (to me at least) All thats is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. |

| Posted 2 months ago I'd go with the model 23. It's recoil isn't that bad plus ammo is more readily available in .40 S&W than .45 GAP in most places. Ammo availability is something you must consider just as much as the firearm itself. |

| Posted 2 months ago Ok thanks guys. Does anyone have experience with the Springfield 45's? Its i believe the V10 with 10 round mags. My unlce could sell me it cheaper then i could get a G23. |

| Posted 2 months ago ok nevermind. I went with a glock 23 that came with 2 13rnd mags and a 10 round mag plus it has a laser mounted on the trigger guard :) Cool thing was i traded the 17 for it hahahaha |

Can't go wrong with the 23. Did you end up with the compensated model? Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil. |

| Posted 2 months ago Not the compensated model but i still shot pretty good with it. Now i just have to find a good tactical holster that i can conceal it with hahaha |

If you're looking for concealment, I recommend the Milt Sparks Versa-Max II. For the tactical applications, check out the Safariland drop leg offerings. Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil. |
