Posted 2 months ago Hey everyone. I browse around here when i get the time before heading off to work every morning. I also browse another LE forum. I see alot of comments about comparing loserness to fastfood. I'm not offended really. It just that I run my sister's Hot Dog chain restaurant (Wienerschnitzel's). It's been my job on and off since I was 16. I'm back to it now and it's actually not bad. My question is...do actually think that some people who earn an honest living out of fastfood losers? I am going to be working this job til the academy starts and my Law Enforcement career should be off from then. You replies are appreciated. I'm not picking on anyone, I'm just curious. |

.......like apples and oranges in comparison , thing is i don't know of anyone who says when they grow up they want to work behind the counter at mickey d's or any fast food joint . there is a stark difference in owning one and asking for the order..........the loser is in the content of the character not the character of the job |

| Posted 2 months ago You bring up a good point, and we are insensitive a-holes sometimes, but know that you have already separated yourself from a great majority of people who work in fast food, because you have other goals. XXXXXXXX made an excellent statement as well. Just remember this....fast food workers are usually considered losers, all cops eat donuts, firefighters eat chili and have dalmatians, white bald guys are all skin-heads, etc. etc.

| Posted 2 months ago What you do for a living is not shameful and you should be proud of the fact that you have been able to work there steadily. It shows you are responsible and know how to run and maintain a business which is more than most can do consistantly. There are many out there who would try to take that from you by looking down on it, but they are small minded and don't see the true value of work. You'll also come up against the same type of stereotypical remarks when you become an officer. Just let it fly over your head and consider the source... | Posted 2 months ago It is not shameful at all to work at a fast food restuarant, its a job and its better than slinging dope on the corner. Its a honest living and I have respect for people like you who do have a job and do have goals. Its something to be said about you for being brave enough to ask that question here, alot of people could post BAD jokes but so far the responses are good and I very much agree with KETO, we all have our stero-types. And if you do continue to venture into a career of law enforcment you will discover there are a hell of a lot more as being a female.
I am sure you have heard quite a few, but its generally a conception that if your a female with a badge your: 1) A lesbian 2)Sleep your way to the top 3) You cant shoot 4) Your not reliable 5) No one can trust you 6) If an officier needs back up not to call you 7)You cant fight

| Posted 2 months ago I have had many comments from people saying that I should get a "real job" IRL. It bothers me but I have really thick skin and nothing really bothers me. It bothers them even more when they notice that it's not effecting me lol. I was a firefighter at some point but I never been called a chili eater...haha. I have been called a hosehead and hosedragger though. Thank to those who replied :) |

| Posted 2 months ago The "Loserness" of fast food comes from the stereotype of those who take a job as a counter person at a fast food place (McDonalds, Burger King, etc) and have no desire, drive or ambition to move any further along in their working life than that basic entry level position. This does not apply to everyone who works at fast food places. There are many kids who worked at fast food places then moved on to lucrative careers in many areas of the workforce. The fact that you have drive and ambition and plans to better yourself in the pursuit of a career shows that you are not among those that are infected with "Loserness". Those who own and run restaurants, burger joints, hot dog huts, etc, are hardworking and ambitious people. They definitely do not fall in to the "Loserness" category. The reference to "Loserness" regarding fast food places refers only to those non-motivated entry-level hangers on.

Heck I delivered pizza for Pizza Hut when I was going through the academy. but this was just to get me by while I was pursuing a better career ( I made $50,000 in LE last year)...... Will PL please appreciate the LEO for a change? |

| Posted 2 months ago I made it my goal coming out of high school to never in my life ever work in fast food. And to this day (granted only 8 years later :P) I have not. Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
