Posted 7 months ago My current certfication is Divemaster. I started many years ago with PADI but two years ago I moved all my certifications to NAUI as I thought they took better care of their divemasters and had more to offer them. I am also First Aid/CPR instructor for NAUI.

Posted 6 months ago I have been an International Course Director for PDIC-Intl since 1995. Checked with the different agencies and PDIC allowed me to develope the Public Safety Diver Program for the state of South Carolina. The PSD Program is now taught all over the world. You can check out my web site www.scpsdi.net and see a list of our most popular programs. Your feed back on the web site is also welcomed.

Posted 6 months ago City of Madison Dive Rescue/Recovery Team Dive Rescue International - Dive Rescue I. Blackwater Diver 0 vis - there is no clear water in Mississippi. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, then it may be a troll doing an impression of a duck.

Posted 6 months ago Been a Rescue/Recovery Police Diver for a year now. Have my PADI Open Water Cert and just finished my Dive Rescue One course. My wish is to make it to Divemaster as when I retire, I want to become a perma-vacationer in a warm climate and open my own Dive Charter, which would cater especially to LEO's! (plus a nice little bar) There is nothing wrong with this country that can't be fixed with what is right with this country.

| Posted about 1 month ago Just in case there is some misunderstanding about what these certifications are ..... There IS a difference between a certification and a specialty. There are no recreational scuba agencies who offer a Public Safety Diving certification - Those who do offer training offer it through individual instructors who have been approved to teach the material as a specialty - not a certification. Recreational agencies recognize the specialty training as a recreational program - NOT a professional level diving program. There are a very few training agencies who offer PSD Certification training. DRI, ERDI, LGS and PSDA. DRI and LGS have been around the longest and as such are more well known but ERDI and PSDA offer exceptional opportunities and are growing in the PSD community. There are presently no written national standards for Public Safety Diving. If we respond to an incident and there is a chance at saving life or limb, OSHA grants us an exemption form the Commercial Diving Standards. If we are NOT performing a rescue, we fall under the OSHA regs. Recreational Training is guided by the RSTC - The Recreational Scuba Training Council. .. All of the alphabets can be researched on the Internet and the RSTC has or used to have, information detailing the recreational diving standards for each certification level. There IS a plan in the works to build a national PSD standard that echoes OSHA. If it is completed and approved, PSDs will have a separate diving standard that will be independent of commercial, recreational or scientific diving standards. Mark Phillips PSDiver Monthly
