POST vs. Trainee Positions
Posted about 1 month ago Hello everyone! I have a very different kind of question. If someone is wanting to get into law enforcement, which would be the best way to almost guarantee you a job? Graduating from POST (academy) or applying for a trainee position that will send you to POST? Are you more desirable if you have all ready graduated and you are just looking to get a job? I know POST has a stringent application process, so if you pass that, would you be more desirable to an agency or department because it shows you've had the background done, and the poly, and the agility etc? I appreciate your comments. This will help me decide what I want to do and where I should go. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Some agancies here in Nevada require you to already hold a POST certificate to even apply. I would think that an agency would love to hire somebody who put themselves through than have to pay for it along with the wages. It depends on if you can afford to be out of work for about 4 to 6 months and afford to pay for the class & materials/equipment too. |
