Posted 3 days ago The name comes from my first Newfoundland dog. That said, I walked a beat in Wash.DC for nearly two years and I mean all over the city. Footmen were in short supply and every night was LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES! Never knew what you would get. Sent you all over the city to replace missing and sick! Biggest memory of those days: getting bitten by a K9 on the Capitol grounds one night. And all the DC riots. I moved into Maryland and worked on the county force for the next twenty years. Survived the Viet Nam anti war riots and twenty + years of street work. Retired to the country where horses gave me most of my more serious injuries. Police work has always been a thankless job but today its even worse. Stay safe out there. Hank |
