Any of you College Campus Police, or SRO's get any flak from the city guys for our jobs?  We do allll the time. As the nature of our job is is somewhat different.

My response to them, when we are cutting up while meeting each other at the gas station/fast food place is....I usually tell them, at least we can take the time and do it right, not rush a call and decide to do nothing. lol I only say this because we have been told in the past, "oh, it's Campus Security, they are not real cops, and can't do anything"....even though we have Police on our badge, cars and patches.

You must have some kind of trouble where you are.  Here, we all work together and my dept has a great relationship with the city and county.  We have worked together for years and alot of them are good personal friends.  From your post, you need to mend some fences or build some bridges.  This is the wrong site to come on and start bashing the Brotherhood!

Sir, what is your problem? Do you have some type of major malfunction, that makes you incapable to communicate with other officers?

I didn't mean to make this a flame thread, but as a rule, many Campus Police Officers, SRO's, get alot of garbage from some other local agencies who don't respect their posistion. Yes, it has happened here. I don't go around complaining to supervisors about it, but it happens.

 Let me be VERY clear, so you can understand me. That statement is often referred to as a comeback. The department rivarly between my agency and another exist in good spirit. Yet, it's still there on some level. So, back off and ask for clarfication before you get all pissed. This is way childish.

in my opinion - and yeah i usually give it point blank - you need to rethink your post and look at the website your in!  you posted in a threat earlier about someone questioning you and other comments that you have made and some wondering about your official status and GOLD STAR.  do you really wonder why you are questioned?  if your going to make comments like that, i suggest you go to your College Campus Police website and high five it with your other brothers.  your an idiot in my book!

 I was turned on to this stie by another contributor, who told me that this was a professional law enforcement site, who acted like adults.  That interested me very much.  Now, I'm going to get a thread, that I'm claiming you guys are not acting like adults.  I can see that coming, and I'll tell you, that I was not. I do thank ALL of those in advanced for taking the time to read my post, and make positive comments.

Look, I'm sorry if I sounded like I was some kind of supercop!  I took this job to protect and to help others just like you. I came to this board to have discussion about my field. As it is, by it's nature, different from yours. I work in a environment, that demands results. My city counterparts don't have that kind of demand.

This is the kind of attitude I posted this topic for. Many city officers have a hard time placing us at their same level. They imply, as you have, that since you work for a city/county government, that you are the only ones who deserve the title LEO. That is very disrespectful. I put on a gun and badge, and enforce the same laws you do.

Man, what is with you?? I told you once, it was a sarcastic response to fellow BROTHER LEOS name calling. We have been called glorfied security guards. It's all made in good ribbing of each other. I was just curious, if this happens in your jurisdiction, when you encounter Officers who work for different institutions or types of departments.

It was your comment about LEO's running to calls and not doing anything. It was an assanine comment I bust my @$$ investigating complaints and putting people in jail, and now I have to see Campus Police telling Me I don't do anything?

I take the time and do it right, I don't rush into anything, and everything I do I do within the best of my abbilities. If you are having an issue with your local PD then take it up with them. But what you did was make a blanket comment about LEO's in general. I understand your frustration it was the same as when I was an MP in the Army and people told me I wasn't a real cop even though I worked the same complaints, caught the same criminals, processed the same DUI's. Just watch the blanket statements is all. Thanks.

i apololgize to transit/campus police for making it seems that they dont do anything.  not my intent at all.  yeah they do the same job we do and have pretty much the same authority as the rest of us.  i am not saying that one LEO is above the rest in any way, shape or form.  i work with  the local, state, and feds with absolutely no problem at all.  great group of people here.  my attitude is  NOT toward transit/campus police.  its directed to Allen705 who makes the comment, trying to be a friggin comedian or not, that he "takes the time and do it right, not rush a call and decide to do nothing".  that is a slap in the face to all leo's!

Yep, this is what my original thread was made for. LEO's making reference that my job is not as legitimate as theirs.

You still aren't even getting it are you? Your comment as a blanket comment about all LEO's you didn't specify any agency. I have never looked down on any sworn peace officer anywhere but your comment that we don't do anything when we get there was completely stupid. You don't know me and you have no idea what I do or what my day consists of.

The thread started was childish as are you, get some rest and learn how to communicate better please.

He did but it's a good thing we have a quote button. He's probably the reason the Campus Police get a bad reputation there.
