My Friends ...

Posted 3 months ago This message will go out to 100's of thousands of members. I have been with PL for nearly a year. And a very dear LEO friend who I have never met and who roams PL with me have talked on the phone on ocassion and have compare notes. We have agreed there is much more to this website than just jawjacking and finding out what gun is the best to carry on duty. Despite the ups and downs, the controversies, the arguments, the disagreements, the comraderie, the linking arms of LEO brothers and sisters in LEO, I want to say this ... I love you guys. I do not know what any day may bring. We have been trained to believe that our goal it so go home at the end of each shift. That is all of our goals. I will tell you silently that my wife does not know and my adult kids do not know the secret concern I have each day I go to work. I do not declare my kiss on their cheek as potentially being the last one. They have never heard those comments in 28 years of marriage. But, to you whose invisible hand I hold each day ... you do heroic work each day. There may be colleagues with self serving agendas that don't allow proper or even equal appreciaton of what you do. Sometimes what you do is unseen, not noted and not acknowledged. But I know. And many around here definitely know what you do. Keep your head up and fight the good fight. You are important. You are appreciated. You are loved. Feeling vulnerable and human at the moment, The Sarge. | Posted 3 months ago Thanks, Lu. When I am with my crew, I genuinely hold their collective shoulders and let them know that at least this sergeant cares. Somehow I feel like it's important. .. | Posted 3 months ago When we are born we don't chose our family. This is one family we all have chosen. Sure we bicker and fight like natural siblings do but if some else steps in to hurt a brother or sister we stand united. Thank you for the sentiment It touches the heart. |

Posted 3 months ago Sarge, brother, I can only hope my future PD sarge's care the way you do (in my field, they generally don't give a sh*t). You're people are lucky to have you as they're CO, and we're lucky to have you roaming the halls here. Thanks for the words, they mean a lot even for us poor flashlight jockeys.

Posted 3 months ago Thanks Sarge. Even though I am not an LEO quite yet, I do consider all of you brothers, sisters, and some good friends... I feel like a part of the family.. Even though I wear a uniform (security) without equipment I do give my kids a hug and tell them I love them because I never know what the day will be like.. Thanks Sarge and to everyone else for the friendships that I have made... Respect is ALWAYS EARNED; and is NEVER given !!!!!!! Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. --"Chinese Proverb" He who strikes the first blow admits he's lost the argument.---"Chinese Proverb"

Posted 3 months ago Sarge, I don't know you well, but as someone who hopes to be a sgt. one day, I pray that I can adopt your concern for the troops. You have been a blessing to me even when you have had to pull me aside so to speak and remind me of a few things. I appreciate the work you do on behalf of LEO's. I have been round and round with a few on this site but there is not a LEO on this site that I wouldn't go down fighting for. Thanks Sarge and I love you too my brother. 2 Cor. 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new."

Posted 3 months ago Sarge thanks for the post. Im sure everyone of us feels at sometime in this job we are alone and unappreciated. I treat it as just part of the job but when one of our own takes the time and doesn't have to to ensure that we know that we are appreciated and reminds us that we are never alone on the line then it is the GREATEST THANK YOU that can be given. Just a humble comment and THANK YOU SARGE for your service from the Back row.

Posted 3 months ago Sarge, Thx for all you do for this site and for Law Enforcement in general. all I can say is we have your back.... And I wish you were my Sgt right about now.... You took the words out of my mouth. I am dealing with Sgt issues right now (micromanagement by 2 sgts kicking me back to 2nd shift for no reason). As you put it, I am feeling human myself, as every once in a while I am reminded that I am just that, HUMAN... However, in my mind I don't see you as human. Thanks again, Burky Why do NON-LEO skanks like "ycpdofficerswife" have the ability to get TRUE LEO like "NAVYCOP" sanctioned when NAVYCOP was right to begin with? Did did the skanky hoe "ycpdofficerswife" offer "services" to the owners??????

Posted 3 months ago I am sure you do not mean that in the Biblical sense! However, I have made "friends" here too. I only how that you and every other cop on this site makes it to retirement like I did. We put it out there everyday and when the time comes, as much as we love the job, it is time to "hang 'em up". Go forth into retirement knowing that you did make a difference and you earned the time to be with your family and friends. Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader!

Posted 3 months ago Well I am not yet an LEO, every morning I strap on my weapon and put on my uniform I wonder if I will get to come home to my fiance. But when she asks me about a take down I have to laugh it of she doesn't know the truth. Thanks Sarge it is nice to know somebody I respect so much feels the way I do. Thanks- Being grown up has less to do with doing what you want to. And more to do with not doing everything you are able to do.
