Hello All!  I'm one of five emergency coordinators for an office building that holds approximately 497 people.  Yesterday we had a power outage that lasted about an hour; luckily it was near quitting time so that didn't pose much of an issue.  The emgerency lighting worked as it was designed to.  However, the batteries are only meant to last for so long, like long enough to evacuate, etc.

Ironically, a year ago I suggested we invest in glow sticks for such emergencies; however my idea  was dismissed as not necessary.   Now, the fellow who oversees the emergency teams for all state offices (did I mention I am a state employee?) made the same suggestion today and it is suddenly a great idea.

So, with that being said, I am the one that will be researching prices and etc.  As luck will have it, one of the programs in our office is EMT licensing/testing, so I have received the "what you're looking for" information.   Since there are so many suppliers on the Internet, I need guidance as to who has the best quality and bulk price available.  So, if any of you can help me out, I would be greatly appreciative of your expertise.

Thank you all for your taking time to read this.

Check out cheaperthandirt.com, they can give you bulk pricing on glowsticks if you call them.  I think they have a 5 year or more shelf life.

LivTooley, you may also need to consider what type of glow stick you will need.  Some are very bright and some not so bright, also they may be rated in hours of use, such as 4hr to 12hr.  That will also affect price, and so might the color of the light, so you may need to present a couple of options when you get prices and deliver your research.  It seems that I remember yellow and green as being the cheapest and blue the most expensive last time I bought any.

I agree with brooklynsergeant that www.cheaperthandirt.com is a site to check out. My wife and I have been using them for many years and have never been disappointed with any of the products that we have purchased

It must be nice to be blessed with the combination of a total lack of forethought and the inability to articulate it correctly.

Thank you for the feedback, it sure is helpful.  I have a few different types in mind for different needs, which of course depend on the situation.  Knowing there is a place online which is trusted by professionals is a relief.

Be groovy!
