A young woman in St. Ignace, Michigan was so depressed that she decided to

end her life by throwing herself into the Straits. She drove onto the

highest point of the Mackinaw Bridge, parked, got out of the car...and was

about to leap into the frigid water when a passing young, smiling sailor

saw her tottering on the middle rail, crying.



He stopped his car, walked up to her and said, 'Look, you have so much to

live for. We're off to Europe in the morning, and if you like, I can stow

you away on my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food every

day.' Moving closer, he slipped his arm around her and added with a wink,

'I'll keep you happy ...and you'll keep me happy.' The girl understood,

nodded yes & got down from the rail. After all, she thought, what did she

have to lose? Perhaps a fresh start in Europe would give her life new

meaning.



That night, the always-smiling sailor snuck her aboard his ship, gave her

sweaters, blankets & some pillows ...and hid her in a

large,remotely-located lifeboat. From then on, every night without fail, he

brought her dinner & several meals for the next day ..and they had sex

until dawn.



Several weeks later, during an unannounced safety inspection, she was

discovered by the ship's old Captain.



'What are you doing in there, young lady?' the old Captain gruffly asked.



'I have an arrangement with one of the sailors,' she meekly explained. 'I

get food and a trip to Europe .and he's screwing me.'



'He certainly is!', the Captain stated. 'This is the Mackinaw Island Ferry.'
