Ok, I found this idea to be pretty interesting. I wish I could find it online so I could copy and paste the article, but I've had no luck. Its in the March '08 issue of Law Officer Magazine and starts on page 74. The idea is to create a contact lense that mimics your MDT screen with a real-time data display. Its currently being tested on rabbits (um, rabbits can't read). Oh, here it is. I found the direct link to the company. Unfortunately, the Law Officer article isn't with it. What do you think of this concept?

I doubt the inexpensive part, lol. My regular contacts are expensive as hell. Can you imagine losing one of these or breaking it? I think the idea would be cool if they used a special set of glasses rather than contacts. The future is upon us...

or they could give you a cool mask like the predator has for all the read outs :D lol..that and has all types of vision/sensory

I would imagine that this would be something that the military would come up with first for their troops with this new concept warrior thing they have going. They can and do have it where the Trooper wears a mini-computer and it sends this info to a HUD that flods down over the eye from the helmet. I can't see it's use for LEO's anytime in the near future. Now as far as rebuilding a busted up cop......they already do a decent job at it and getting better all the time. Sorry, gotta go and recharge my batteries. VBG!

Solar panels! Damn, why didn't I think of that! LOL! Seriously, I read the article and it was really very interesting. Now I am close to 60 which really isn't very old and the advances that humanity has made in my memory alone is amazing! I knew about TV but never saw it until I was 7 yrs old. Telephones were very heavy bakelite with a cloth cord and our number was 388 on a party line and you talked to the operator. Airlines still used propellers, bomb shelters were the rage, no Internet, no cellphones, no cable, and cars were made of steel without seatbelts and with steel dashboards! LOL My God we have come such a long way so fast! Even this looks like it may well happen and new Officers may end up using this before retiring!

And it was pretty much fully developed in the late 80's and shelved by the German government when the Berlin Wall fell.

maybe when the wall fell it got knocked off the shelf in its case that was supposed to get shipped out as a prototype to nato and was forgotten lol..really does look like somethin out of star wars though

Oh, I just got an upgrade to the old one of those. It instantly makes me see dumbasses in red and liberal hippies in bright pink. It also has a "wah-wah" setting so when idiots speak I can drown out the sounds.
