I would like to inform newcomers to LE as well as active members of the profession that LASD is now scheduling hiring tests on a regular basis, even on Saturdays for those who can only test on weekends. Check it out at: http://www.lasd.org

It's a great department, the largest Sheriff's Department in the world and has so many different career assignments and professsions 40 years isn't long enough to work a third of them. Pay and benefits are very good as are working conditions. You can work in the Mojave Desert, downtown L.A., Hollywood or Long Beach, South Central or Marina Del Rey. Over 25 stations in the various regions of the county.
