Posted 2 months ago I have only been an officer for about three months now. I long term goal is to work in Crimes against Children. I have a degree in criminal justice and I am working on my second degree. I am not exactly sure on how to get started in the direction that I need to go. If anyone has any advice I am willing to listen. Thanks in advance for your help. |

| Posted 2 months ago First learn the job of COP, before you start to specialize. No matter where you go in Law Enforcement, you have to have a solid base of what this job is all about.. Just like any other job, you start at the bottom and work your way up. |

It appears that you are a failly new member so I think it would be in your best interest to go to the Introduction Thread, say hello, read the four rules or the site and the Terms of Use on the bottom of the page. It will make your life easier. Also, take advantage of the search engine above. Put the topic in there, hit the search button and see how many times the issue has already been addressed. Many times the answers have already be given. Enjoy the site! Moderator 13. |

| Posted 2 months ago And if you are a police officer like you say, shouldn't you already have a good idea of what you need to do in your dept, to go into that specialty? Your first 2 posts are very strange, tsoule. Take RCs advise, go to the Intro forum and introduce yourself, then maybe add a little to your profile so we know who we are talking to. |
