Posted 6 months ago My name is Noah I am 20 years old, married with no children. I was just medicaly seperated from the Air Force and want nothing more then to be in the law enforcement field. I am looking for any information on how to find dept. that I can apply to with out being 21. |

| Posted 6 months ago Talk to the recruiters of the Depts. that you are interested in. A lot in Maryland will take you as long as youl turn 21 prior to completing the academy. I had a 20 year old guy in my academy. Can't speak for other states. |

| Posted 6 months ago Welcome to PL! A lot of departments have cadet programs that get you in the door. They usually give you time for school and then when you turn 21 you can apply. We have a lot of people in our department that started out as cadets. |

Hi Noah: A big hello from the Great White North!! Welcome to "the LINK"!!! :-) And my advice to you is to go and start applying to the Departments you're interested in NOW!!! The selection process takes awhile and a lot of places only test once or twice a year. The sooner you get your foot in the door the sooner you're on the streets!! Best of luck to you, and if you need any kind of advice just e mail me , the "kids" I know on here look to me as a bit of a Father figure because I'm a bit older, (50), and have been in this business for over 22 years now!!! I'm certainly glad you know the Chief of Police Sir!! At least you know somebody that can post your bail!!!! |
