Posted 2 months ago Name: Officer Kenneth Jordan Agency: Colorado Springs Police Department (Colorado) EOW: Febuary 5, 2006 Cause: Gunfire Officer Jordan succumed to gunshot wounds he sustained just before midnight on December 4, 2006. Officer Jordan responded to administer a sobriety test of a suspected drunk driver. When Officer Jordan reached the car the driver pulled out a handgun and shot Officer Jordan multiple times and continued to fire at him while he was on the ground. The suspect then fired on officer positioned behind the car. The officers returned fire seriously wounding the suspect. Officer Jordan was the second Colorado Springs officer to be gunned down in less that 10 months. I chose to submit Offcier Jordan for the following reasons: The trial of his alleged killer, Marco Reiner Lee, will start in a few months. If Marco Lee is convicted, he could face the death penalty, and join Charlie Dunlap (The Chuck E. Cheese's Killer) as the only people on death row in the state of Colorado. I find the manner of his death gutwrenching and a heinous crime. You miss 100% of the shots you never take. |
