Presidential Candidates think we are plain stupid!

Posted 6 months ago Why is it that all politicians think the American people are a bunch of idiots? The Presidential candidates all scream about making a change, I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that- Bull Honkie! We all know (suppose to know) that the President can't do squat, it is the House, your Reps and Senators who do everything. If you really want a change- you have to change the House and if you ask me we need to kick everyone of them out of offiece and start over. In 2006, the Dems hollered- give us control of the House and we'll make the changes needed for the American people. Well, kiss my grits, we got the change- more than a $1.50 more for a gallon of gas, higher grocery bills, higher energy bills, millions losing their homes, house prices plumneting, the list goes on!! Please politicians- don't help if that's the best you can do. This is probably one of the most important elections for President we have witnessed and we really need to sit back and THINK REASONABLE! Why am I voting for a particular candidate? Is it because I'm mad at the moment about the way we have been going for the last couple of years? (Since the DEMS took over the majority of the House) Is it because of the war? (We didn't ask for this war- it started on 9/11 and the American people better realize that our lives will never be the same since). The American people better think who they want in office when the next attack comes and Believe me-it's coming! Do you want a President who wants to run with their tails between their legs before the job is done? One who has never fought in battle and knows the horrors of war first hand? Do we want a true American Decorated War Hero- one who has been there? Unfortunately, our country has become a two party democracy. A third candidate has about as much chance to win that me winning the lottery. Therefore, sometimes we, the American people, only have a choice between two candidates. We have to decide- which worse of two evils do I choose as I don't support all the issues of any of the candidates. So, are we going to be stupid or think of the future? The choice is yours! |

Some are willing to vote for a person serving only 143 days as a Senator, with no prior politics or leadership positions under his belt, to run this country in it's complicated condition at the moment vs two individuals with years and years of experience. What would you think about that, if you were looking at another country's choice with that very same scenario............? |

| Posted 6 months ago I'm with you David. I can not, for the life of me, understand why people want BO to be president. What is the attraction? I know he's articulate. So what!? All that proves is that he is articulate. It just goes to show you how gullilbe people can be. | Posted 6 months ago I can't understand how anyone would think BO would be a good president either. Although McCain would not have been my first choice in the republican primary, to me, he is now the only choice.

More Americans watch Dancing with the stars then the state of the union, more Americans vote in American Idol then voted for the President of the United States; more Americans know who Tila Tquila is then know who their Representative in Congress is. | Posted 6 months ago I don't know about "stupid" as an accurate descriptor for the american people as a whole, but clearly our society is A) LAZY B) Self-centered C) selfish. Our politicians know this and exploit it. How esle can you explain why individuals that run for elected positions [from local all the way up to national offices] spend many times more money to get into the office than they'll be "compensated" for. We demand INSTANT gratification on everything and don't consider the long term effects our decisions have on much of anything. That's why "important" people such as sports & movie stars make millions while the "unimportant" folks, such as public safety and education professionals who have direct impact on lives & futures are forced to survive on pathetic wages. The scary part is that for as bad as our "system" is, it seems to be better than anything else out there.... ___________ I_____________ I_____________ I_____________ I_____________ down from soap box now... | Posted 6 months ago I too am fed up with the unsympathetic way that campaigns are run.. I hope to God (yes, I just said that), that we elect a President that has served in a war. Someone who will help our country and not drive us further in debt. Someone who will put a stop to $4.00 per gallon gas prices. (etc.) I hope that McCain is elected as our President, that, I believe, is our only hope. N/A |

I mean this seriously, I am curious... What is it he stands for that you are proud to associate yourself with? I imagine that Will Smith could get the Democratic nomination, all you need is charisma, not substance. Heck, I love will smith, he is great at acting, like Democrat candidates. |
