Posted 5 months ago Any officers out there with "Fallen Arches" or flat feet have any advice on future shoes/boots I should look for? Sometimes after a good run my feet ache like hell which has been an issue pretty much my whole life. |

| Posted 5 months ago Get fitted for orthotics (usually I believe you have to see a podiatrist for a proper fitting) - you'll be able to move them to the different pairs of shoes and boots you wear, not only at work but at the gym etc. They can be costly but they should be guaranteed for a certain length of time and I can almost say for %100 you will notice a drastic improvement once you've been wearing them consistently. If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them. |

| Posted 5 months ago sgtdemanda is absolutely correct. I have flat feet but that didn't keep me out of the infantry or LE. I don't know about running with orthotics, but I have a set in my 8" duty boots and they are the most comfortable footwear I own. Better than my cross trainers and running shoes, and better than my 6" hikers. You may be able to find cheap orthotics, but you get what you pay for. I know a lot of people that swear by the "Good Feet" stores' inserts, but you may feel more comfortable seeing a podiatrist as sgt d suggests. Also, if you see a doc, your insurance may help you out. | Posted 5 months ago I've been using orthotics for years and they make the difference. If you go to Web MD and look up "Pronation" you'll see all your symptoms. There are some stretching exercises that help, and there are some fine retail orthotics. Check out Sole Orthotics. It will take on a couple days to lose the pain with exercise and removable orhtotics like Soles which go from duty boots to street shows and hikers. Good luck! | Posted 5 months ago Check you insurance. Mine covered 100% of the cost which was $500. It takes about a month for them to make. Also you my try the HTP heel cups from footsmart.com I use those too and they are a great inexpensive alternative. For sneakers Shockdoctor makes a arch support insole that is great. |
