Posted 5 months ago Hello everyone, I've posted before but would like to introduce myself again now that I've been hired. I'm April and I start as a dispatcher trainee this monday, 6/16/08. I'm really excited and ready to start this new adventure in my life. I love reading posts by experienced dispatchers and will listen to any tips or advice you all have to offer. I've actually been privileged enough to have been able to talk to one of the dispatchers I'll be working with here through Police Link. Michelle, thanks for all your insight so far. 8-) Take care all, April

| Posted 4 months ago Congrats, You will enjoy the job I am sure. It is a very rewarding job. There will be them days, just keep your head in the right direction. Don't forget not all emergency calls come in on a 911 line..... O ya when you start the radio remember your own tag number, because it never fails one of the guys on the road will call your tag number to you over the radio, usually on night shift........... |

| Posted 4 months ago Good luck and dont get fustrated at the beginning can look like alot of work but you will get the hang of it "You know where you are, and God knows where you are... but if your dispatcher doesn't know where you are, you and God had better be on good terms."
