Zone Sergeant Vladimir D. Horrego, E.O.D. 09/21/87, Troop F- New York State Police Monroe, is in desperate need of a kidney.  He  is experiencing a rapid decline in renal function and has been placed on a donor list that takes up to  5 years to fill.  His condition will soon be life-threatening and he cannot wait for his turn on the list.

Zone Sergeant Horrego is a devoted family man and is the father of four children, ages 5 – 17. He has been married to his wife Maureen for 19 years. Within the last two months, his kidneys have rapidly degenerated. There is no method available to cure this condition. He truly needs our help.

A simple blood test is all that is required to verify your status as a possible donor.  In the southern end of the state, the test can be done by The Renal Transplant Center at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, phone (914) 493-1990. In other areas, blood can be shipped overnight or relayed to the center for testing.

To arrange a blood test, please call the Transplant Center as soon as possible.  Time is of the essence.

Thank you,

David Scott

I would gladly be tested but I just attempted to donate a kidney to my brother who is also in dire need.  I learned that I am too old, here in Harrisburg, PA they have a hard and fast rule, no one over 65 may be a donor.  I am type A pos blood and if there are no limitations as to age, I would glady submit to blood test. I will contact the transplant center.

It was once said the way to understand men is to understand their basic principles. 1 All men need to feel they are better than at least one other person. 2 Man naturally accumulates objects. 3 Man naturally feels his objects maybe less superior than his neighbors. 4 Men are naturally driven to improve his position in comparison to what he knows about others.

UPDATED INFO:

Good morning,...

I just wanted to follow up with The Sarge's post regarding Sgt. Horrego's need for a kidney.. First of all, I would like to thank The Sarge for disseminating this information as well as thanking those who have responded ref donating a kidney.. You guys are the best.. I myself have just recently signed onto P/L and was not aware that my forwarded email had been posted here until one of our brothers from West Palm Beach PD contacted me ref wanting to see if he was a viable kidney donor..

As I told The Sarge in an earlier email,  although, I do not mind fielding the request for further information, I was just a middle man who forwarded the request to my contacts across the US.. After receiving several requests for further information, I contacted the NYSP and spoke with Sgt. Horrego directly.. When I explained to him why I was calling, Sgt. Horrego was very humbled and expressed his deepest appreciation to everyone and advised that his wife, Maureen, was handling all of the medical questions.

Sgt. Horrego advised that anyone needing any further information should email his wife, Maureen, and her email address is: ( sapphiremo@frontier.net )....

I spoke with the NYSP today and they advised that Sgt Horrego is still in need of a Kidney so if anyone is still interested in helping our brother, please email his wife, Maureen, and she will be able to assist you with any and all information... If you have any questions and you feel that you need to contact me, please feel free to do so..

Again, I would like to pass on Sgt. Horrego's humble appreciate for everyone's prayers as well as their kind and generous hearts.

Thank you again.. Take care all and be safe... Suzanne:):):)
