I was wondering if anyone has a good way to carry when they are dressed for the beach or just out on a hot day (shorts, t-shirt)..I carry a Glock 26 off duty, during the winter I take it where ever I go, but find it hard to conceal, if out with the family to the beach or just around town.

I apoligize if this was already answered, but I didn't see it posted, thanks for any advice. JBeau

If I'm wearing shorts that have belt loops I carry my G27 in a Kramer IWB III under a t-shirt, just as I am doing right now.  If my shorts or trousers do not accept a belt I carry a .38 snub IWB in a denim pouch with a velcro belt or my P3AT on its belt clip.  I carry the P3AT on the clip while on my morning runs.

I found that a belly bamd holster works best for me because I tuck in my polo shirst into my shorts and it gives the ease of access and deep cover concealment all the way up to my 4 1/2 in Glock 21.

This happens to be where my G27 and P3AT ride when I carry them as described above.

Thank you for making the point regarding small of the back carry, as I omitted that detail earlier and it's an effective way to conceal a pistol.

The slightly homosexual looking fanny pack is the only thing, as for me that's the one time I will go without.

i stick my .38 S&W 642 in my front pocket and go. I would love to have a sub compact glock, but 1. havent gotten around to it yet, 2. its a bit larger then the 642 and i'm a pretty small framed guy ( but i'll whoop your arse, so dont throw your bones at me bub!).  Summer is the best time of the year, at least to me, but it makes carryin' concealed a bitch, dont it!?

I am in southwest Florida so this is a daily issue most times of the year.  I like wearing cargo shorts (baggy shorts set up kind of like BDU trousers) so the ankle holster tends to draw some attention.  I carry a Glock 26 off-duty and have found an open top holster slides perfectly into the deep pockets, and the holster helps to hide any outline of the weapon that may push against the fabric.  The SOB holsters are nice, but in this humid climate the small of your back tends to get a bit 'moist.'  Other than that, I sometimes wear it on the belt under an untucked shirt over a tee shirt (tee shirt is to keep it away persperation and avoid the weapon from rubbing on the skin).

Try one of those 5.11 Holster shirts they are compression so they will keep you cool and hide your gun. Then try one of those New 5.11 shirts that are button up to cover up.

I should work for 5.11

Try your back pocket.  The 26 should fit right inside just perfect...

try a pocket holster.  Here in the deep south it is summer nearly all year long.  You end up carrying in your glove box or finding a happy medium.  Personally I carry a Colt Pocketlite .380 with Glaser Safety rounds.  Adds a little oomph to the small caliber.  Of course the best advice I can give is to remember the very first rule of a gun fight..........................HAVE A GUN!

I'm not a fan of Glasers due to their penetration leaving something to be desired.  I'm especially nervous about the .380 and carry FMJ in mine in the hopes it will sink deep enough if I ever need it.

I usually wear an IWB ( Desantis ProStealth) to the beach. Worked great for me last week. You should try a thunderwear holster or smart carry (they are the same thing). I have yet to try it but my Uncle says it is great. I dont know how comfortable you are to carry your gun there, but it looks like it conceals great.

Hey KSP494:  When a man wearing a leather fanny pack like me, with a Glock 27 and two magazines meets a guy  with a  " thats the one time I go without"        the guy with the Glock usually wins.       LOL                    I guess I am just getting too friggin old to give a shit, because I dont care if a guy doesnt like my  fanny pack, dare him to say something.   And I always had a ray-dar detector in my POV for thirty years too. Not because I like to speed. I just liked to know what was going on around me and couldnt stand listening to the CB radio .

In NJ if you wear a ball cap, they think you dress like a kid.  If you drive a pickup truck they think you are a red neck.      Here in TN if you don't wear a ball cap they know you are a tourist or outsider.   If you dont drive a pickup truck,  you sure don't own a farm.

For those who didnt get it:   the first paragraph was in reference to something said in a Clint Eastwood movie. In answer to a comment made by  my friend KSP494.
