If he's coming back, let him play wherever he wants to play. With that said though, what's with these athletes who retire then want to return? Either stay in the game or retire and stay retired, the media coverage makes me sick...

It would be good to see him play again but lets give the young guy a chance to shine.  He should be able to play in Green Bay or anywhere for that matter.  He wont come back if he's NOT starting.

Make up your mind, please.  I'd love to turn on ESPN and here something other than Brett Favre's name.

I THINK BRETT NEEDS TO STAY RETIRED. FIRST OF ALL IT IS ROUGHLY 12 DAYS UNTILL TRAINING CAMP HE CAN NOT EXPECT ANY TEAM TO JUST CHANGE THERE GAME PLAN FOR THE TRAINING CAMP JUST BECAUSE HE DECIED HE SHOULD PLAY MAYBE 1 MORE YEAR.

You should live near Green Bay. No matter what media you pick; newspaper, television or radio, that is all they talk about! If he retired, let him go, contract and all. If he wants back, let him play for the spot, just like anyone else.

I wouldn't mind if he came back but not to Green Bay.  I would like to  see him come back to a team from the south, where he is from, and play another year or two helping to bring a faltering program back into contention.

Brett Farve touched the ass of a kid I coached when he was 11. Frank Winters, the GB center was grouped by Brett just too many times in his years as team mates!

..So he has "an itch"...so what??  At some point in his life he'll have to sit on the sidelines or in the box-seats and just watch the game while kids play where he used to...might as well get used to it now.

I just think it's a shitty deal for Aaron Rodgers, GB's new starter who's lived in this man's shadow for the past several years - going in only when Favre got hurt or went down hard. The kid's a legitimate threat as a QB but as long as Favre remains in the game in GB Rodgers will be a benchwarmer. Favre ought to possess that admirable quality found so rarely these days in professional athletes ~ integrity ~ and just keep his word. He hung up his cleats, they're getting ready to retire the jersey, and nearly every media forum has carried his biography in some form or another to commemorate his achievements. Coming back now only injects the elements of a soap opera into what *was* a classy end-of-an-era goodby, albeit 2 years before his contract expired. Favre will lose, no matter what happens.

As a 13 year DIEHARD cheesehead, I have been following this closely. Today's update is that the Pack say either play and ride the pine or dont play at all. They don't plan on releasing him.

I think that Brett needs to stay retired. He went out while he was on top and we couldnt ask for anything better than that (other than the last pass of his career being a friggin interception in the last seconds of the game, but I'm not bitter).

Bretts entire life has revolved around training camp and all that goes with it....as that time draws near, he doesnt know what to do with himself and think he wants to come back. Let him get that first concussion and he may think otherwise. (If he can think at all after a concussion).

As much as I dislike Aaron because of his mouth, I think he deserves the chance to prove himself. He has been sitting on the bench for quite some time waiting for his turn. His first game out of the chute is going to be a MNF against the Vikings, trying to fill the shoes of Brett Favre....no pressure, right?

I just reading about an interview where Brett said he wants a release so that he can sign with a competitive team.  I think the whole thing is crappy all the way around.  Rodgers has been patiently waiting for his chance, now it is here, why should he get screwed.  I also don't think it is fair for the Packers or thier fans.  For the last three years it has been, "is he going to retire?" or "Is he not going to retire?'  The one time he makes a decision and they can move on he wants to throw a wrench in it.  If you watch the news reports its turning into a blame game.  Brett says its all Green Bay's fault and they say its all Brett's fault.  I think he should stay retired and be done with it.

Brett Favre is done. End of story, he is 40 yrs old. To be a good quarterback he has to have good recievers. Look at Troy Aikman for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a great quarterback because he had great receivers. After Michael Irvin retired his passing game became average b'cuz  he no talented receivers. So he held onto the ball alot that is why he got all those concussions. He had noone to throw it to that could get open.

He could start for a number of teams...Just don't know that he could take the pounding with a team that has a average line
