One thing about Trolls

Posted 2 months ago Folks, I have been on this site over a year, I am a verified LEO, and though I haven' t been on the job as long as many of you fine folks, or on the site as long as many of you, I, like everyone else here, have a voice to exercise.
FIRST OF ALL, I do NOT, and will NEVER condone any of the trolls on this site. I do not like the trolls, and I think they really put a damper on what the site was meant for. I am even in the group "Troll Swat Team" to watch out for trolls and get rid of them.
HOWEVER, I have seen some harsh words used against these so called "Trolls" lately. I wanted to put the thought out there that, we might not want to stoop to their level? After all, they ARE trying to get us mad, right? If they see that happen, they are just going to laugh and keep doing it. I think the best defense against trolls are to IGNORE them. Hell, I have even found myself answering dumb questions in what used to be "Ask a Cop" just to show, even to trolls, that not all Cops are bad, and that we can actually be nice.
And isn't it possible, that a troll may come to the site, see that some cops are nice, and even change their opinion of us? I didn't say it was LIKELY, just POSSIBLE.
Just a little rant, my fellow brothers and sisters. Let's remember, kindness, or inattention, will kill these trolls quicker than anything else. I'm not trying to be soft, I just trying to be effective; as we fight to maintain the intregrity of this great resource we call Policelink.com

| Posted 2 months ago It depends on them, I don't mind being pleasant to a point. I will not coddle someone that continues to put LEO's down and at some point you just have to say "Look dumbass, shut up!" |

And in some aspects you maybe right,..but then that would also take the fun out of it. I would love to see how you feel in..oh, lets say 5 - 10 more years. I have a feeling that you would be some what Jaded by then as some of us are. And like Nikk said...he is from "New Jesey and we are strange people".....well I am from Chicago, and we love to fry up trolls and feed them to the posers and badge bunnies on this site~!!

Point of clarification in defense of Nikk. Nikk is from Blue Sky Country. Henry is from NJ, thus Henry is given more latitude, and people normally just get off the sidewalk when he is headed for them. (It's been a while since I have been able to ditz Henry in public). |

Ok it was a long,long night last night....but thank you for correcting me....I did mean to say Henry is from NJ. And LT. I am so very glad you like the lights...but the car is what I love! Man it is so Damn easy to entertain an Lt~! Maybe I will get some flashing lights for our office,...Our Lt. never leaves the office and that will make sure he never does!
