| Posted 3 months ago You need to check with the particular department that you are interested on. The requirements vary from one dept to the other. I can handle anything that life throws at me~ I may not be able to handle it well, or correctly, gracefully, with finesse, or expediently ~ But I will handle it. |

| Posted 3 months ago Check out this thread from last week. It seems to be along the same lines as your question...

| Posted 3 months ago In my agency it doesn't matter if you have a GED or HS Diploma because neither will get you in. You have to have a minimum of 2 years of college, or two years of continuos active duty military, or two years as a sworn peace officer somewhere in the country. That could help us out a lot... we can't really give you any kind of solid, concrete info without this pertinent information!

Your profile says you are from MN. In this state you need a MINIMUM of a 2 year degree or experience as an officer in another state. You also may want to work on capitalization and sentence structure.. Both of which you will need in Law Enforcement.. All thats is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. |

| Posted 3 months ago Missouri is a little different, St. Louis , Kansas City, and Springfield require that of the prior mentioned statements from these other fine officers. Most agencies witin the state only require a state P.O.S.T certification obtained though aknowledged police academies. Different agencies have different stipulations on what the look for though in an officer and in training requirements and testing prerequisites.... Good Luck in your search..I hope you fing what your looking for.. |

| Posted 3 months ago I don't think that it is necessarily a death sentence. All agencies are different. Some require college, other's don't. All that I have seen require at least a G.E.D. or a high school diploma. Do some research for agencies in your area and talk to some recruiters. That will probably be of the most benefit to you. Good luck! |

| Posted 3 months ago The Dept I worked for only requires a High School graduate or have a GED. College or related experience prefered. Let me add this, emphsis is put on education beyond college. Take the time to further your education before applying to any LE Agency. Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have. |
