| Posted 4 months ago I think it is within their purview to set a policy like that. Then the unions can go to court and fight it under some "First Amendment" freedom of expression reason. Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader! |

| Posted 4 months ago Yeah this argument comes up every once in a while no matter where you work. Some PD's do make their guys wear long sleeved shirts all year round. Supposedly the reason the New Jersey State Police where them all year round is because of guys having tattoos. My feelings are as long as it is nothing totally offensive what's the problem? When people call 911 because they need help they don't care if we show up in Bermuda shorts and flip flops or even a clown suit as long as we show up. My guess would be that the union will win their grievence against this rule but it's just a hunch. Police work- the greatest show on earth and my team always wins!!!

When I made Captain I started wearing a long sleeve shirt and tire all year long too because I thought it looked more professional. Beside, I have punny arms! Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader! |

| Posted 4 months ago I started getting Tattos back when i was in the Army and now I have 5...but I never got one that would show when i was wearing a short sleeve shirt because I knew I was going to go into Law Enforcement and I thought that it would not look professional. Now that does not mean that I think that the rule is OK or that other officers should do as I did....the choice I made was just because I flet that way at the time. But now at the age of 44 with 20 yrs on the job I have been thinking about getting one on the forearm. I guess if I am going to do it I better do it before my Department reads this....LMAO~ Sometimes in this world there is Justice,..and sometimes there is JUST US..

| Posted 4 months ago I think a cop with sleeved tats is more intimidating than one without! Especially Drug/Gang units.....LOL! J/K Bros! "You can't see us, but we're there"! |

I got his badge between my shoulders a little on my neck. I luv it...
