So what made everyone want to be a cop?

Posted 4 months ago I'm not a cop yet. But hoping to be one one day. If I could be a super hero, I would do it. But having super powers isn't quite possible. And I wanted to save lives and do something good for the community despite the danger that may come along with it... And the army was out of the question for me. My dad was a cop and enlisted in the army. He def does not want me to join the army. But hasn't had a problem when I said I thought about being a cop. And I kind of want to follow in my dad's foot steps. |

| Posted 4 months ago LMAO, you all are killing me, other than the ovious, carring a big gun, i wanted to become a police officer ever since i can remember when i was growing up i had a couple of dreams to become a police officer and join the army and jump out of plains well it just so happened my jr year of high school i talked to a recruiter who told me that i could be a airborne military police officer, so i joined the army and lived that dream, and now i got out and just kinda kept on being a LEO. what can i say there is not just one thing that made me want to be a LEO, it was something that iwas born to do i could have been something else but i wouldnt have been happy with that desion... GOD MADE COPS SO FIREFIGHTERS WOULD HAVE HEROS!

| Posted 4 months ago I think it was wanting the high blood pressure, the riding around in a cramped vehicle for 12 hrs and it killing my joints the cardiac shack burger joint meals (YUM!YUM!) and don't let me forget the free 3day old over cooked coffee at the gas n go's. LOMFAO! |

| Posted 4 months ago I was about 5 years old, a friend of my brother was a Police Patrol SGT in my hometown.......he'd stop in at our house for coffee, sometimes breakfast and one of those times he gave me a Winchester 357 magnum live cartridge out of one of his dump pouches. I still remember it like yesterday even though it's been 36 plus years. From that moment on I wanted to be a cop. I kept that copper coated semi-wadcutter round until I started in law enforcement. I fired it in my first duty weapon...a Ruger Security Six 357 magnum revolver. |

| Posted 4 months ago Glutton for punishment. I had this insane desire to wear 25 extra pounds of crap, wear black clothes on hot/sunny days with a vest underneath for 10 hrs a day. Not to mention people hate us and stare at us wherever we go. Whatever someone else is running away from, we run towards. People despise us and fear us, yelling at us, making their kids afraid of us...and yet whenever they need help, they call us. |

| Posted 3 months ago I watched one too many episodes of cops I guess, lol. When I was a kid I used to take my little micro machine cop cars and stage traffic stops and stuff, lmao. Back in the day.
I love what I do, I can't believe I get paid for it. On my days off, when my wife is at work anyway and not home, I find myself going into work for free just because I love it so much.

| Posted 3 months ago I wanted to become a LEO so I could help people and of course carry a gun around. But I really want to be a conservation officer so I can do both of those things and be able to enjoy the outdoors at the same time. |
