Posted 3 months ago I think the Red Sox should have just kept him and let him hit the hell out of the ball. We let another good one get away. | Posted 3 months ago I think it was time to trade Manny even though this may have an impact on pitches seen by Ortiz. We knew this day would come. Manny has been pissy in the past and it was time to move him. Bay may not have the numbers, but he does have the ethics and the heart to play. I for one would have liked to have seen the sox pursue Matt Holiday. Aging outfielders are in an abundance these days and a team built around ailing players all jockying for the DH spot does not build staying power with the ranks. Look at the Yankees, for dh you have Damon, Giambi, Posada (until the dl) and others off the bench. |

| Posted 3 months ago NOPE to letting him go.................IF Boston makes it into the playoffs - Manny's bat - experience - and leadership (no matter how unpredictable at times) CAN NOT BE REPLACED down the stretch run by anyone else on that roster. |

| Posted 3 months ago We got Byrd from the Tribe, quite an addition. I like Manny, but sometimes I felt he was arrogant. Too much of a showboater at times. For example, when he got to LA,,,he went from a dark blue skullcap...to a dodger blue one. He was out showboating his new dewrag. It 's my opinion he looked a little idiotic. It's the same when we traded Garciapara to the Cubbys. Where is he now. Never here from him anymore. Like Manny alot, but I won't miss him too much. Boston fans are of the same opinion.."Good Riddens" |
