I said the exact same thing in another thread where it was mentioned how slow PL was. I've noticed it getting worse for the last few days, and I think you hit the nail on the head.

I noticed it several days ago...Is there anything that can be done??

Yeah I was told is was being hacked as well with more specifics... it's too bad.

funny you say that.  it has taken me over 20 minutes just to log on and then it said that i had 138......YES 138 messages in my inbox.  sorry folks but i am NOT that friggin popular!  hope its not true but i am pissed for the night and getting off here.  its taking too damn long to go from one place to another.  hell, if i am getting HACKED.....atleast i want to get WACKED!

I think, in all reality, we are feeling the aftershock of the original mass pm that took off like wildfire.  If you think about it, one pm sent to say, 60-80 people, then responded to time and time again and each time, each reply is being sent over and over...everything was fine until that point.  It was a honest mistake by the individual, but as soon as it happened, the whole site came to a near standstill...within seconds.  Serious bandwidth issues going on here.

 

Not arguing with what you say bro, but this has been going on long before she did the mass email. I've noticed it getting slower and slower each day for the last several days. The mass email might have made it worse, but when I leave this site, my computer is running normal every where else. I left and surfed several sites, lightning fast, came back here, it's a snails pace. Like I said, it didn't just start tonight, it's just been the worst night of it tonight. I think others agree it's been going on for a few days now. Someone might look into the hacking issue, see if bandwidth allowances have been changed or what.

It has been very slow for at least a week but tonight has been the worst. Hope is clears up soon.

I hve noticed the slow down for over a week if not two...I'm in the dark here. If anyone knows who ia doing the hacking whoever is handling the site should be able to block her IP address...permanently...Everyone has their own individual IP addreess shouldn't be too difficult...

Tha'ts the problem.  I was feeling like this puter was biting the dust.  Alrighty then I will be back in a couple of days and I hope it 's cleared up by then.

Could that PM have done all that? It was really causing my blood to boil, the PMs just would not stop coming. But I did not resort to being a cyber bully...woosa...woosa

I see I am not the only person having slow web browsing problems on Police Link. I was thinking maybe I picked up a computer virus while researching information for school. If there is someone causing problems for Police Link, they will be bust…Hackers are nationwide, so this web site could be hacked. Be careful you guys, we might have the immigrants coming for us!...

I have been having trouble trying to change pages.. Let's see if it works better now....

Yeah, it was really slow earlier, thought it was only me, glad to hear it wasn't just my computer........much faster now!

interestingly enough...while PL was moving slower than molasses uphill firelink was working just fine. I don't know if the servers for the two are connected but I initially suspected a server problem on MY end... 

Guess we found out just how addicted we are out of this if nothing else........
