Posted 3 months ago Saturday Policelink member http://www.policelink.com/member/Chapel590 was injured when attempting to arrest a suspect. I'm not sure of all the details. He's been on some serious pain meds and had surgery yesterday. The way I understand it, the suspect began resisting arrest. They were on the porch (which was very high off the ground) both Deputy Watkins and suspect fell off. The Deputy Watkins broke his leg in three places and dislocated his ankle. The suspect allegedly attempted to grab Deputy Watkins weapon. Deputy Watkins was able to roll over and protect his weapon, but the suspect grabbed his flashlight and began beating Deputy Watkins with it. Like I said I don't know all the details yet. I do know the suspect was caught and in custody at this time. Deputy Watkins injuries will keep him from his watch for at least 4 months and then it's light duty till he's released by his doctor.

Sorry to hear about this accident...may he have a speedy recovery and be back on duty soon...God bless him and his family...wish it had been the other way around and the dung heap was the one suffering with injuries... I Don't look back for long, I keep looking Forward! |
