We have come to a point here at PoliceLink where a line must be drawn in the sand. Over time, the discussion forums have taken on a very negative and uninviting atmosphere to both LEOs and non-LEOs alike. I have fielded hundreds of complaints from members on both sides of the badge regarding the behavior of a select few members.
It has come to a point now where this sort of behavior can no longer be tolerated, not even from verified LEOs.
As of the time of this posting, any member - LEO or non-LEO alike - who continues to make overly rude, threatening, harrassing, attacking or belitting comments to other members (trolls excepted) or PoliceLink moderators or staff will be sanctioned immediately and permanently. No more warnings will be given. This posting is the last warning. Length of time on PoliceLink, verified status, or how active the member is will not be taken into account.
The behavior shown by some LEOs here is disgraceful, and it will no longer be tolerated. Everyone is expected to behave in a professional manner on PoliceLink, just as you would if you were standing in your own police department or place of business.
Disagreements will occur, and that's okay. Disagreements should be handled individually through PM or in the Fight Club. No more will we allow legitimate members of PoliceLink to be thrown to the wolves in the public discussion boards. That sort of behavior is coming to an end today.
Any one who feels they will not be able to abide by this request to act in a more professional manner is free to PM me and request that your account be closed. If your account is closed per your request, it will be technically impossible to ever re-open it with your username and you will lose all of your PMs and account history.
Once again, I ask everyone here to act more professionally and to treat other members with respect. If you're unable to respect them, ignore them. If you're unable to ignore them, leave PoliceLink.

I understand some of this, but disagree with some, by leaving it open like you have, what one of us consider harmless sarcasm someone else thinks is an attack. You should know by now an attempt to make everyone happy is impossible, the next best step is to bend to the will and whinning of the overly sensitive? If this is what it has come to Chris, then it is not policelink, you expect the certified officers to act as if they are on duty while they are here, we are expected to never speak what comes to mind because of someones feelings? It's this type of babysitting mentality, sugar coating, stupidity that has made such sensitive, crying, sniviling, whinning, tattle tales we have now. Anyone that would tattle like a school kid isn't worth a squirt of piss, and shouldn't be catered to, are you just getting tired of fielding complaints and this is the best you can do? threaten banning to any officer that might offend a childish whimp that can't take hanging with the cops unless they are smilling and kissing their ass? I am thankfull that for policelink because I have met people, non LE and LE alike that are truly here to see how we act when we are free to cut loose, if I wasn't free to express, I wouldn't know their real intent. You have a good many of fruit cakes that come here to try to make LE friends for future "get out of jail free" connections, you have some that think this is a great place to strike back at police by saying something totally ignorant then run to you and cry when they can't handle a sarcastic response. I see you have posted that some have shown to be disgraceful, they are off duty, and how about you go through the academy, and put some time in the streets, live through a few battles before you through that word around as a discription for what has occured here. This is a civilian site, not a police site, you have made this very clear with this post, sanction and ban at will every officer that offends some idiots sensibility, won't be much of a site after that. I hope this is not just some place where civilians that have an ax to grind with cops can come to get their digs in then tattle to get a ban so they can feel vindicated. Were you trying to have the last say by locking the thread you started, I would have asked these questions there but it was locked. John. |

| Posted 3 months ago I also agree with Chris on this one. I'm not talking about a little troll hunt here and there. But I have witnessed many "professionals" get down right stupid from time to time. I just saw a young lady called a whore on her own profile for a picture that was not even a little bit inappropriate. This was done by a verified LEO "professional". That's just out of hand.

| Posted 3 months ago Don't get me wrong Brothers and Sisters. I back the badge. What I am saying is there is a small group here that hide behind the badge and use it as an excuse to act the ass. As has been stated many many many times here by great LEOs. This is a public site, we must act profesional here in open forums. This does not just mean with our pictures as some think. This is our behavior as well. In our private locked groups we can act as we please. I reject your reality and submit my own. |

| Posted 3 months ago I understand the need for the post but I am concerned that it is a little too vague, I am afraid people won't know where to draw the line. I do get heated in debate but I don't feel like I attack people or harass anyone. I definitely don't use foul language. I guess what I'm saying since I missed last nights excitement is I am more confused about what I can or can not say or do in the forums. So I guess until I see it for myself or get clarification I'll stick to my groups. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

| Posted 3 months ago I'm very unhappy with the way policelink is changing. It's a site that clearly caters to the public. If a LEO cant' speak his mind while off duty, why even come here? It would be like being at work. |

| Posted 3 months ago I've made it known how I feel about respected members getting the boot and allowing civilians to dictate what is said and how it is said. I agree with Odin. I was hoping this site could be turned around but apparently that's not going to be the case.
