If you couldnt be a cop anymore(I know! TERRIABLE THOUGHT!)-

what job would you choose to do? Or would you just recoil into a ball of sadness and drink yourself into oblivion?

Pick any career-

I think id like to be in advertising or something with production re:movies etc. I love film- not just the final product but every part in the process form casting, lighting , directing, cameras, etc.

also maybe u should switch PDs.. cops here make between 75-110k a year. (california... san jose, santa clara etc)

You get what you pay for though in CA.  Salaries are relative.  I have a buddy in CHP who makes 20 grand more than I do a year but his mortgage payment is almost twice what mine is.  The higher the salary... the higher the market is for decent housing. 

Actually, everyone should stop and consider this for 2 reasons...

1. Shit happens and you may become forced out... cops layed off due to budgets, medical retirements due to injuries both on & off the job, family disasters, etc...

2. In theory even if your entire career goes by after 20-30 years comes retirement....what then? I'd tell you to check with some of our retired list members, but they seem to be a rapidly diminishing group of BANNED folks....

I'd talk to Avenger2354 so he could help me get the funds and sponsores together in order to become a pro fisherman on the BASS tourney, win more $$ and collect American sports cars!

I'd go back in the Army

Schwans driver, Adult Film Star or Columbian Drug Lord. I guess if I'm not coppin, it dont matter.

Lay around the house all day drink beer and bitch at my soon to be exwife. Nope since can't be leo anymore anyway I build toys to keep busy and listen to my daughter complain about work {she's a corrections officier}

Sell beer and bait on the bay and have all you guys come down and visit.

Too many thoughts rolling around in my head: Would the next job have *nothing* to do with law enforcement? Would I have to work full time, or could I cut back to part time? Would I need a full benefits package? Heck, could I even consider an early retirement, at this stage in my life? All of that being said....

Maybe something totally different: I'm real good with computers, so that's an avenue of possibility. Another thought is something that centers around another passion in my life - Motorcycles. Or maybe acting as a tour guide for visitors in my area - On a motorcycle would be *really* sweet. ;-)
