Well said Sarge. Palin rocks! Her speech last night was priceless! I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain but now there is no reason to hold my nose. She has absolutely energized this Conservative!

I LOVED her speech. Even CNN broadcasters said right after, that it was out of the ball park! Of course later on they backtracked some but some ontinued to say she said what she needed to and did so well. I can't remember which network said it today, except that it was not Fox (so people can't say it was a biased network), but whoever said it said that Palin is the Republican's version of the rock star like Obama is the democrats version. They went on to say that Palin could bring in the Independents and others undecided.

Palin cannot be compared to NObama. She is not a socialist elitest liberal. She might be better compared to Ronaldus Maximus (aka Ronald Reagan)

The reason the liberals attacked is because they are scared. She is small town middle America. I am headed to my local REPUBLICAN office as soon as the doctor clears me to become a PALIN vol.....

I'm a Republican, but was not very excited about McCain.  I think Palin is a great choice and has brought energy to the party that it has lacked over the last 3 years.  Palin has solid credentials on social issues and is a real conservative, something McCain needed by his side.  I thought she gave a great speech, but even more, she brings energy and street smarts.  Most importantly, she is the closet thing to an average American that the White House has seen in 75 years!!  McCain has my vote today.  If all goes well,  I expect that I'll be  voting Palin for President in 2012 or 2016.

I'm a conservative, not a rebublican.  She is a GREAT add to the ticket.  I too was not looking forward to McCain untl she was chosen.

Oh and Sarge thanks for stipulating about photos.  I'm tired of seeing altered photos on blogs.

As I learn more about Gov. Palin, I become more impressed with her record. She certainly has the proper motivation and attitude towards governing. Although the media continues to keep pounding her with personal half-truths about her family, she is big enough to get through it. Very impressive! The sexist remarks made by the liberal press are also unecessary and insulting to all females. Its obvious that they are grasping as straws to bring anything negative forward and keep it in the forefront. Certainly everyone is smart enough to see through their ploy so they can see how well qualified she is for the job as VEEP.

Well, her delivery wasn't all that smooth.  Not bad, but not real polished.  A nice change from the oleaginous delivery of some other candidates.  She seems to have real grasp of the duties and limitations of government.

Loved her! I think she will add great things to the McCain campaign!

McCain made a strong choice with Palin. She represents every small town middle class American citizen both male and female. Our thoughts will be her thoughts when budgets and laws come through. Hopefully she has more influence on McCain's decision-making then previous vice-presidents.

She did an excellent job of speaking and paying attention to all of the people there, she is the shot in the arm that McCain needed to bring him to the forefront.

What makes me sick is the childish and immature reaction by the media. They are absolutely worse than a bunch of two year olds. As Father Jonathan Morris noted in his Oped: "...I have witnessed such meanness, such venomous politicking, such childish gossip —all, of course, in the name of news reporting -...". It is very obvious that the liberal media wants to confuse the issue by slinging mud and being pious. Let's dig up some dirt on some of the liberal media and make that a public issue! I'd bet they would be willing to change their tune.

The liberal media is always going to be that way. Unfortunately, I think even if we did dig up the dirt it wouldn't change anything. Look at all the dirt that has been dug up about Obama and it seems that the general populas is so ignorant they can't see it or they just choose not to. Either way, if we dig up dirt about the liberal media, who is going to report it???

No one cares about the dirt on Obama because frankly they're just ignoring it.  They are so sold by what he promises they don't see what he has done and who he is affiliated with.  I think people are just seeing MCcain/Palin as republicans, and see a replay of the Bush administration.  As upset as I am with the Bush administration, I'm still planning on voting for Mccain/Palin.  One of the main reasons is the man has been knee deep in the s**t.  He has fought for the country, he absolutely knows what the troops have gone through.  The same cannot be said for either Biden or Obama.  Not to mention that Obama got his start in politics with the backing of the head of the weather underground.  That right there should remove any type of backing by anyone of sane mind.  I have my concerns about MCcain, but I can sleep much more comfortably knowing that someone who has actually served and fought for his country is in charge, rather than hoping Obama gets it right.

Gov. Palin is an outstanding addition to the Republican ticket and I think Sen. McCain picked the right person to be his VP.   She is beautiful, extremely well spokem, tough, and strong.  she has guts and determination and has fought corruption in her state party and has become almost a folk hero there!   Plus, any woman who is a Life Member of the NRA and a moose hunter is excellent in my book!  She's a Christian and walks the walk and is pro life. She is going to clean Biden's clock in the VP debate!   Obama said he was about "change" and look who he picks for his VP!  Mr. Career politician Joe "Boring" Biden!  What a crock!   Change?  Don't make me laugh!   I think a lot of the HIllary supporters are going to folk to McCain/Palin now.   They have my vote!

She hit a home run last night. She cut em off at the knees! She is the future of the Republican Party and that future is bright.

Last night I jumped out and got a little heated (Italians getting a little heated, whoda thunk it?) when a PL member brought up the war dead in Iraq. As stated in that post, that gets me going. Well that member sent to me a friend invite and PM telling me he said what he had to say. I accepted of course and PM'd him telling him I understood. What I failed to do, was recognize the name I had looked at his profile before. So, the thread about thinking and looking before you post, yeah that is the truth. I messed up and am not ashamed to admit it. he knows who he is and if he reads this, my apologies. I will PM him and tell him the same. His point of view is different and experienced not just as an LEO, but as a fellow Brother in Arms.

These issues being raised, get everybody going. Thanks to The Sarge for his leadoff post in this thread. Remember, we are all in this together, and no matter what hapens we are all Americans.
