Soldier forced to sleep in car after hotel refuses him a room

Posted 3 months ago Ok, I know that this forum is to support OUR troops but this is a story about a British soldier who happens to be one of our allies in the WOT. It is shameful that this could happen to someone who wears a uniform AND God help the first company here in America that does this kind of BS. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article4674411.ece Thanks to the timesonline.co.uk for this story. "Corporal Tomos Stringer was told by staff at Metro Hotel, in Woking, that it was company policy not to accept members of the armed forces as guests. The 24-year-old had travelled to the Surrey town to help with funeral preparations for a friend killed in action." You have GOT to be kidding me. You can't cure stupid. |

| Posted 3 months ago No sense in this whatsoever! "Company policy" BAH! They should be totally ashamed of turning away a soldier who has served his country like that. |

| Posted 3 months ago Baffles me that ANYONE would refuse service to a person that willingly lays their life on the line for total strangers. Sadly enough, that soldier is risking his life in protecting the freedom of the hotel employees and management which allow them to act the way they do. No different than here in the States When will people wake up?? In GOD we trust. (All others get searched). |

| Posted 3 months ago Thank you for posting this story...it is a sad day and a sign of the times when we see this happening. Sickening. The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

| Posted 3 months ago I wonder who owns this Hotel? Want to bet it is a Muslim? This story should be widely circulated in the area and the powers that be in that town I am sure can locate all kinds of violations that might cause that hotel not to be able to operate business as usual. Code inspectors, Fire Inspections and Police taking a hard look at any criminal violations might cause the owner to either shut his business down or whatever. |

| Posted 3 months ago Someone should go slap the Queen for allowing such madness under her rule. These P.O.S. people should be ashamed of their ignorance. "I thumb my nose at thee." The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke |

| Posted 3 months ago Is this company a stand-alone, or is there a parent company? If there's an international parent, ALL the subsidiaries also need to be boycotted - someone let me know, please... |

| Posted 3 months ago At least his family did say Disney treated them great here in the US. American Amusements LTD is located at 1 Crown Square, Woking, in Surrey, UK GU21 6HR phone: 01483 7272100 When I just contacted them, they said "it was a mistake by the desk attendant and he has since been dismissed." "they have made a public apology and everyone is welcome at their hotel." "I regret that I have only but one-ass-to-risk for my country" Fraternal Blue Line |

| Posted 3 months ago this hotel and it's staff clearly are pushing the liberal agenda and were focusing it towards it's members of the military. hopefully, we learned this lesson during vietnam, and for sure, our "nam" veterans will not let something like this stand here in america today. but it also appears that the hotel now see's that they bit off more than they could chew on this one... and no doubt it will cost them business for the next few months until "the liberal all is fogotten" mentality happens... i believe, this is exactly why this group here on PL grew to 800 members in it's first 36 hours of being created. america has learned her lesson to take care of her troops, even when their mission isn't fully popular.

| Posted 2 months ago I think this hotel operated a blanket ban on all military. The area is highly populated by military personnel. Some bars/pubs/hotels also operate like this. One thing I do know is this.......The hotel is situated on a complex called The Big Apple Family Entertainment Centre.....and is owned by American-Amusements. There is no excuse for the managements behaviour towards this soldier, or anyother military personnel..........they should hang their heads in shame. Utrinque Paratus |

| Posted 2 months ago That is truly, patheticly sad. I don't think that any apology could erase the shameful cowardice displayed that day. I've heard of that type of incident occurring before with the "justification" given that it is the policy to avoid appearing to cooperate with any political agenda... they think that by not allowing service members to stay, they won't be drawing attention from terrorists who take great pleasure in destroying anything and everyone that does not support them, and thereby protect the civilians that stay in their hotel.... Unfortunately for this rationalization, by keeping the 'enforcers of liberty' out, they are inviting the terrorists in. Hope they get what they deserve.... |

| Posted 2 months ago Unfortunately this type of treatment is not isolated. Last year, three British soldiers were flown home, from Iraq, for emergency treatment. At the hospital doors, they were asked to remove their uniforms, so Muslim staff would not be made to feel uneasy. WTF is that all about? Utrinque Paratus |

| Posted 2 months ago That is absolutely repulsive. Not only is he a SOLDIER looking for a room, but also a SOLDIER there to serve in a funeral for a fallen commrade. That turns my stomach. Shame on them! |
