| Posted 2 months ago Thank you for supporting the right candidate. I read the responses in the FOP Newsletter, and did not believe Obama to be supportive of police. Especially when he wanted the legislation REQUIRING data to be collected to show if officers are racially profiling. |

| Posted 2 months ago My vote as well. I don't see how anyone could possibly support Obama who is a Marxist and has as his closest friends racists and terrorists and who has no executive experiance and really no experiance in Government at all as he voted 'present' in all but the most mundane issues and never took a stand in anything. |

| Posted 2 months ago I would have been disapointed if it had been otherwise. "Go on, then, in your generous enterprise with gratitude to Heaven for past success, and confidence of it in the future. For my own part, I ask no greater blessing than to share with you the common danger and common glory ... that these American States may never cease to be free and independent." --Samuel Adams |

| Posted 2 months ago Great choice for the National FOP to endorse McCain, that truely was their only clear choice. One would have to wonder if they supported Nobama after the PORTA-POTTY-GATE in Washington State, how many memebers would have resigned, besides me. "Fear is an instinct. Courage is a choice."Rear Admiral Joseph Kernan USN

| Posted 2 months ago I always voted democrat until now but I couldn't imagine voting for nobama. Love the VP nominee Palin. When she retires as VP I would hope that she would come to Nashville and help clean up there. She'd make a fine police officer. Good job FOP. | Posted 2 months ago Way to go. There is talk that the PBA may actually support the other jerkoff because of Biden and his support of law enforcement. If he were running for President that would be a different story but he isn't so I am totally against it. I may have to stopp paying union dues if that happens......LOL. Maybe I can join the F.O.P. as the odd man out in my PD and in most of my state??? Police work- the greatest show on earth and my team always wins!!!

| Posted 2 months ago While I'm perfectly aware of the possibility of an LEO being injured or killed while in the performance of his duty. But isn't it a stretch to compare the danger an LEO faces when executing a warrant on a some crack-wh**re's pimp with the people who attempt to capture/kill Mullah Omar? In his territory, at his compound, in a town full of his supporters? Or even just those that patrol the streets of Fallujah? When I look at the number of LEOs killed since alcohol prohibition's black-market gave rise to "La Cosa Nostra" then compare it to the totals from any single war...this one included...there just isn't any comparison to be made. Domestic law-enforcement is simply not anywhere near as dangerous as actual soldiering. Heck, crab fishermen die on the job at a rate far higher the LEOs. Just joining the police force in Baghdad is a life-or-death practice! The Mahdi Army, or AQ in Iraq regularly sends car-bombers around to the new recruiting center so they can blow up anyone who hasn't managed to get there early enough to not to be among the overflow that inevitably spills outside the security perimeter . And yet I see lines from Canterbury saying Well.... Maybe that's what you want in the WH, but that's not the perspective that should be inculcated in LEO's.
Not anymore. And since LEO's aren't Army, Navy or Air Force, that means they too are now legal targets of the national military. And all thanks to the tearing up of Posse Comitatus by the same guys who gave us the WMDs charade. What is it with Cheney and his thing with militarizing every aspect of the States? Owns a lot of military related stocks. But you'd think there'd be a point beyond which nobody could go and still be able to live with themselves. But then again, maybe not? But hey! It is good for business doncha know.... 300,000 LEOs breathing down their COs neck, trying to get him to take the Pentagon's hand-me-downs. And now we see theyr'e under constant pressure to buy the latest products that companies like Taser International carry. And statements like Canterbury's fit right into the rest of the the ads trying to get the rank and file convinced that they absolutely must have their products. Yup! Right from the moment they leave the station, no matter what, where, or who they're arresting, they think they're in a war zone. Say it ain't so, Chuck! Please? <g> Anyhow. Whatever the reason, it's all only a recent development. There's been a huge change in the way LEOs see and conduct their job compared to only a couple decades ago. So what's going on? Why all the fear all the sudden? Why the military hardware? Why ther bunker mentality? |
