Trooper Stocks was a member of the N.C. Highway Patrol.  He was assigned to Troop C in Wake County, North Carolina.  He was a Marine and served in the Army Reserves.  On 9/9/08, Trooper Stocks was responding lights and sirens to a wreck, vehicle over turned, and injuries.  While responding to the wreck Trooper Stocks patrol vehicle loss traction in a curve.  Trooper Stocks patrol car struck a garbage truck traveling in the opposite direction.  The impact was directly concentrated on the driver's door.  Trooper Stocks died from his injuries.  He leaves behind a wife and stepdaughter.  Trooper Stocks was a great Trooper dedicated to the citizens here in Wake County.  Please keep his family, co-workers, and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

It is very sad to add another name to the memorial wall in Wash. D.C. If you visit the wall please pay your respect to the memory of this fine North Carolina State Trooper. May he truly rest in peace with all of the other Brothers & Sisters of the shield.

My sincere condolences and prayers go out to the family of this brave officer and the department that must deal with the daily reminder of their missing colleague and friend.
