Posted about 1 month ago To all my brothers and sisters across our beautiful country, I want to thank you for supporting my son with your words of encouragement during his basic training. There aren't enough words to express my graditude, more importantly my pride in knowing each and every one of you. I know Matt is going to be besieged with letters this week coming up, as I know that this will be the time when everything gets to him. As soon as I obtain a picture of Matt in uniform, I will post it on my profile site. I wish I could shake the hands of all of you who took time to write to Matt. Just know that your actions will never be forgotten, by Matt, or by me. Especially me. Matt is going to be a corpsman, assigned to a Marine Division. He is going to be out there in the thick of things, doing his best to save the life of someone who has been wounded. I know it is not a job where his safety is not a risk. But he wants to do this, so each day of his service, I will pray that he is able to save the life of an American Hero, and that he comes out of it ok. We still have a lot of football passes to throw to each other, and I want to someday spoil his children. To say I love my son and am proud of him is an understatement. You all really rose to the level, and I will never forget it. I am proud to be associated with fellow police officers, along with firefighters and members of our military. God Bless you all, and God Bless the United States of America. | Posted about 1 month ago I look forward to running into your son one day in the fleet, especially since he's going to be a Corpsman. Those guys have the respect of every single Marine in the Corps, and if you mess with one Devil Doc - you mess with the whole unit! The Navy and Marine Corps is a small place, so hopefully we'll have the chance to work together later on down the road! Keep us posted with his training and eventual unit placement! |
