Posted about 1 month ago Will there ever be playoffs in college football? Can there be playoffs? Who wiil decide who goes? I think it needs to happen. It would be more exciting to have playoffs that would lead to the championship or bowl games. Plus it would give a deserving team a chance. Then there would be less griping about who goes and who doesn't. |

| Posted about 1 month ago There should be a playoff but I say leave it alone because they will do nothing but screw it up anyway. Just like Nascar and the chase for the cup. It was better the way it was. I have a feeling that college football will be the same way so lets just leave it alone. |

| Posted about 1 month ago I don't mean to beat a dead horse. I understand both of your points, but what is the actual reason. Is it money, tradition or both? People have been talking about it for years and i think they should act on it or stop talking about it. Maybe it's just me. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Personally I think it's a money thing. I think it is talked about to appease the fans, but they'll never do an actual playoff. I'm just glad they at least have an actual championship game. That's better than it used to be. |

| Posted about 1 month ago It's all about the money. However, it can be done. It is done in Division I FCS (formerly I-AA). Sixteen teams are selected by a NCAA committee, similar to the basketball selection. Some conferences have automatic berths. Once the field is set, its fair. The best team every Saturday advances. It's not always the end of season #1 or #2 team. Just last year App State won the National Championship and they were not one of the top four teams seeded in the playoffs. The playoff system works in FCS and it would work in FBS. At least the champion would be determined on the field. |

| Posted about 1 month ago I understand that the bowl games bring money, but it's at the point where there are too many bowl games that people just don't care about, get rid of 6-8 of them and put in a playoff, just pick the top 6 teams. |
