I've never experienced a tornado, but I am fascinated watching them on the tv shows.  To be honest I would probably be terrified.  I grew up in the hills here of WV and very rarely would a tornado ever strike.  If it did, it would basically touch down in a river valley somewhere run about a 1/4 of a mile and hit a mountain and bust up.  My wife always mentioned moving down south somewhere and one of my biggest arguments was here I didn't have to worry about tornados or hurricanes.  The worst here that you had to deal with was some snow and drunk rednecks.  I always love to watch a good thunderstorm rolling over the hills.  I applaud the bravery of yall emergency workers in those tornado areas.

Have seen 3 at one time in the distance in Central Florida, but never close up.  I was on top of a tall building down town Orlando and they where in the distance.

I'm not sure if I did or not but if it was I was the only person who did see it.  I saw the storm from the Rouge River bridge in Detroit and was heading towards it.  I was pretty far away but the sky had that black color to it.  By the time I exited the freeway I wasn't certain if I was going to make it home in time.  It started pouring and hailing when I pulled into the driveway and I was soaked from the four steps onto the porch.  I got in got my camping lantern (we lose power everytime we see lightning it seems like) and went onto the back porch.  It had stopped pouring momentarily so I scanned the field  and when I looked to my right I thought I saw a huge dust devil followed by a wall of dust that spanned most of the open field.  I didn't realize how fast the wall was moving, I was watching the 40-50 ft trees bending to my right.  The wall hit me with my eyes wide open.  I got inside rinsed them heard the chaos for about 10-15 minutes then went back outside.  There were trees that had snapped.  The houses down the block had uprooted trees.  The Microburst as it was labled left a trail about a mile long of store awnings down, business signs, traffic lights down (on the ground), air conditioners ripped off the roof at a local drug store and the power was out for about 3 hours.  I had always thought those were the definate signs of at least an F1.
